If you sat through the first five episodes of Rasm-e-Wafa wondering when the breezy romance we were promised in the promos would actually start, you’re not alone. It’s been a rough few episodes full of drawing room drama, moan sessions, and slow-burn resentment but the stage is finally set for the real story. What happens when the man at the center of it all dies?

After Noor fiancé Fawad suddenly dies on their wedding night, she’s forced to grapple with grief, accusations, and a deep, lingering sense of betrayal. Audiences knew poor Fawad wouldn’t last long the moment Noor warned him, “Marney ki baatein na karo.”

The pacing has been frustratingly slow. Despite a grand wedding, family feuds and a rapid-fire match-making session the first 5 episodes plodded along.

Here’s your full guide to the characters of Rasm-e-Wafa, and where they stand now that Fawad is gone.

RASHID (Waseem Abbas)

Fawad’s father and the architect of the entire disaster. He claims to hate the rich, yet dreams of marrying his son into money. When Fawad fell in love with Noor, Rashid saw it as a threat to his authority and crushed the relationship with cruelty and suspicion. He humiliated Noor’s family, pushed Fawad into isolation, and now blames everyone but himself for his son’s death.

Rashid is a man deeply unhappy with his own failures — and like all classic tragic figures, he finds purpose in punishing others. His misery demands company – bitter, proud, and hell-bent on dragging everyone down with him.

Noor (Hina Chaudhary)

We met Noor as a composed, warm-hearted woman in love. Exuberant and eager to be married to the love of her life she is shattered when Fawad’s insecure, classist father rejects her and humiliates her and her mother during a visit. His father grants permission but fate intervenes on their wedding night. Rashid accuses her of “killing” his son and Usama can’t even meet her gaze

Fawad (Umer Aalam)

Soft-spoken, loyal, and emotionally caught between his love (Noor) and his father’s control. Fawad was pressured into ghosting Noor after his father opposed the match — but never got the chance to explain himself. On what should’ve been the happiest day ofhis life, Fawad dies suddenly, throwing the entire family into chaos.

Usama (Arslan Khan)

Wealthy, lovable and deeply loyal to Fawad. Usama is caught in an emotional trap. After Fawad’s death, Rashid (Fawad’s father) places the blame squarely on Usama and Noor, accusing them of betrayal. Meanwhile, Usama is being pushed into an engagement with Alishba (Zara’s sister-in-law) a match he didn’t ask for and but was easy going enough to accept at the time. Now, he’s numb, cornered, and haunted by Fawad’s death.

Zara (Wajeha Khan)

Married into a family of emotional vampires. After tying the knot with Tahir in an OTT wedding, Zara quickly realizes her new family could benefit from a therapist. Her in-laws bully her into arranging a marriage between her cousin Usama and her sister-in-law Alishba. Zara’s husband Tahir is easily manipulated and quick to jump to judgements.

rasm e wafa alishba Alishba (Mahnoor Pervaiz)

Obsessed with Usama, to the point of staging her own emotional engagement party. She finally gets him by episode 4 — not because he’s into her, but because Zara made it happen. Meanwhile Fawad’s younger sister Irum is also hopelessly in love with Usama. She watches her chance at happiness go up in flames when Alishba bags him with Zara’s help. Usama is accidentally at the center of a love triangle (maybe square) with Alishba, Irum and soon…Noor.
