Raqaas Has Some Terrible Parents

There are no slammed doors in Dilawar’s house. No loud music. No carefree laughter. Not even the simple pleasure of standing outside when it rains. Instead, everyone tiptoes. In Raqaas, Green TV’s latest exploration of honour, misogyny and domestic control, fear has become so thoroughly embedded in a family that

ARY Tanhaiyan Nayee Silsilay

Tanhaiyan Nayee Silsilay Episode 3

First of all, let me just say that I miss Tariq Road and its chat even more after watching today’s episode!! Alright, now to the actual episode; so last week I deliberately did not write about the ending of the episode where Saaniya is listening to Zara’s Cd. I thought it was extremely personal between...

ARY Mera Pehla Pyar

Mera Pehla Pehla Pyar - Episode 3

To be honest, Mera Pehla Pyar is pretty interesting – and I’m not one to say that after watching three episodes of a drama. Usually it takes about 4-5 episodes for a drama to really “click” with me. And so far, I’ve got to admit, my initial anxiousness while awaiting this...

Bari Appa Hum TV

Bari Apa: Episode 9

This was yet another beautifully scripted and excellently directed episode of Bari Apa. It was of course not as thrilling as the last one but the way the aftermath was portrayed was absolutely brilliant. If I compare Bari Apa with many of the dramas that I am following at the moment, I have to say that...

Hum TV Mere Dard Ko Jo Zubaan Mile

Meray Dard Ko Jo Zuban Milay - Last Episode

So, while Hurricane Sandy was doing her thing outside, I was hoping that my power would stay on, aur light na chali jai, but I guess things aren’t exactly ever supposed to work out for me how I want them to, and my electricity went out. I was freaking out because I had just started to watch the...

ARY Manjali

Manjali Episode 21

While Man Jali is just soap, it introduces an interesting set of intelligent, spirited characters with intriguing depths. Taimoor, the manipulative Casanova, with a mere sweep of his little finger has members of the opposite sex swooning at his feet. He is quite astute and intelligent in his manipulations....

Hum TV Na Kaho Tum Merey Nahi

Na Kaho Tum Mere Nahi Episode 2

This Monday I am with a heavy heart as Eid holidays are over and have to get back to office from tomorrow L This week I had also completely forgotten to watch second episode of this serial. I was also busy so had it not been for Fahad, I wouldn’t have watched it online and reviewed it tonight. Thanks...

ARY Mera Yakeen

Mera Yakeen - Episode 12 & 13

Technically I should be happy for Nazish after watching this latest installment but somehow I can’t help but see her as the “other woman”, although I know only too well that she is Asfand’s wife and deserves his love just as much as Maha does. When I saw both of them going out and enjoying themselves...

Hum TV Na Kaho Tum Merey Nahi

Na Kaho tum Merey Nahi Episode 1

Allegations of not being constant with my first drama review, me cribbing too much about lack of feedback and in between a personal tragedy in my life. That’s what sums up my reviewing experience at dramapakistani so far. Still here I am reviewing my second drama Hum TV’s Na Kaho Tum Meray Naheen. Maat...

ARY Manjali

Manjali - Episodes 11-20 Review

Its now time for another review, since we’re now almost headed towards the closure of ‘Manjali’. Since the last time I wrote, the story has moved forward at quite a quick pace. We’ve seen so many characters been butchered as the episodes progressed. Some totally at once, and others...
