First of all my apologies in delaying the review as it took me a while to prepare this video. I felt sometimes its just much more easier for me to say aloud what I am thinking about the episode or how I feel about certain aspects or scenes. But for some reason my computer’s video program has been acting quiet wonky and today I thought I had it all covered when it deceived me again, so I am just going to relay some parts of the audio script here.
So last episode we were left with a cliffhanger and I am sure we were all waiting for Kashaf’s answer to Usama’s proposal. Acting wise, I think it was a really well done scene especially for Sheryaar, as he is still learning the art of acting and dialogue delivery. However here, he truly did convey with his acting and expressions how serious and genuine he was. Too bad for Osama though, he doesn’t know half of insecurity and weaknesses that lie behind Kashaf and I guess it was no surprise that she walks away from the proposal.
Lets turn towards Kashaf’s answer to the proposal for a second. From previous episodes and leading up to this scene, we have clearly known that Kashaf is very insecure not only about the concept of marriage but with herself and her abilities. Its like she deliberately wears a mask of being a strong independent women to the outside world but if you lift this mask for a moment, she has a hollow, sensitive and a very insecure core that has eaten away her sense and ability to see far beyond this strange pessimistic thinking. Its interesting that Kashaf doesn’t believes herself to be lucky and not only knows but agrees that luck might not have given her any loyalty in life but she had to struggle and work hard to achieve all this peace and little luxury. In my opinion, isn’t kashaf lucky then? She choose to work hard instead of letting luck make those decisions for her and she paved her own path to destiny which is far more superior than simply being born lucky. Par ab koon banda yeh baat Kashaf ko samjahyay. Poor Poor Osama. If I was Kashaf and thought beyond myself as a victim and choose to marry, it would be Osama any day over Zaroon.
Even our beautiful Manshah aka the heart of the show, aka sidra was back this episode contemplating on Kashaf’s decision to reject poor Usama. Seriously Sidra is the only one that really knows how to press Kashaf’s button and get her to think otherwise. Even Rafia who Kashaf relies greatly on for emotional support cannot guarantee a secure and married life or take away the her insecurities about this relation. That is why I am quiet excited to see how on the earth Sir Ibrar convinces Kashaf to agree to Zaroon?
Murtaza abba thaak gain hain apnay ladlay kay nakhray uthatay uthathay. At least for Murtaza abba, he has some remorse in the fact that he cannot ask his daughters for favors, as he has held no respect in their eyes whatsoever. It was nice to see him acknowledge what a blunder his second marriage has been and indeed we got a wonderful confirmation from Nigar herself as well.
There were two favorite parts in the whole episode. The heart touching scenes between Sara and Zaroon which were made even more brilliant and amazing by Fawad Khan and Ayesha Omar’s amazing acting and Sultana Apa’s wonderful direction. This scene in particular reminded me so much of Dastaan and the part where Bano wears the green colored dupatta on request of Hassan and he tells her everything will be arlight. Fawad Khan, I have no words to praise your acting, every scene is a treat to watch. Coming to sara, her divorce is hitting her extremely hard. I guess what Umera truly was trying to show was those rash decisions always have consequences. Sarah was very blinded in her approach and she didn’t listen to anyone at that moment. Even worse, Ghazala is getting blamed for rushing Sara into a divorce, and that even by her own daughter.
During this scene in particular, I wanted to truly wring Junaid abaa’s neck. If it’s the duty of the mother to make her daughter understand, isn’t it his duty as a father to also stand up for what is right. During the divorce proceedings, if Junaid had enough spine or enough stamina he could have stood up and told both Farhan and Sara to get their acts together. My blood is still boiling how he nonchalantly lets Ghazala take all the blame and outcome of Sara’s unhappiness. Yes its true that to some extent it was Ghazala’s fault, however…..
Last but not least, the last scene was the highlight of the episode for me. Good old days of humsafar. the hesitance in Zaroon’s voice, his genuine reasons for marrying Kashaf and his righteous way of asking his uncle or Sir Ibrar for helping him get to his ideal wife or um K2 was so well done by Fawad and Behrooze Uncle that I want to watch this scene over and over again. Its interesting how Zaroon thinks that winning Kashaf over could be epitomized to conquering the hardest mountain peak, however I think Kashaf is more like a deep ocean that has always mesmerized Zaroon to the point where he is driven to find more and more ways to unravel its mystery without drowning, except this time he is ready to fully immerse himself in it! A challenge Zaroon has always been looking for!
Next week:
