Chalo jee Kuri nikal gai hath say…. Mazhab badal lay… Goray naal Via karay gi.. Kafir day naal :)
So I was a bit disappointed with Zid in Epsiode 7, I had heard good things about bee gul however she is just following the regular clichéd story line. Ruki falling in love with a GORA David, and wants to marry her despite knowing that as a muslim she can not marry a chtistian( Mushrik)
I really don’t understand what line Zid is going on . What is it that it’s trying to question, Is it trying to question marriage as an institution ? Is it trying to show the Hippocratic society we live in? What is it trying achieve. ?
To be honest The Character of Saman is not properly developed, why is she having this feeling that it’s the entire world against her and that everyone is only interested in her? Bhai nahi hai time her kisi kay pass app kay liye, per that’s how she thinks. She is trying to question every normal thing.
She thinks marriage is not for her. She hates the word “ Shohar” and on top of it thinks that Aurat should not get married and opposes to spend her life and change her entire routine for her husband.
Or maybe that’s her problem. She thinks Marriage is the root of all evil. No Marriage = No Change = No Problems.
So in Episode 7 , Saman leaves Omar and moves in with Ruki because Saman thinks that Omar wants to control her life and she does not want to change( remind me of Amitabh of Mohabbatein “ Mujhey Parivartan pasand nahe” ) Later in the episode Saman finds out that Rukhi is in love with a Gora named “ David” and wants to introduce him to her Father. Which she does and you know the rest.
“ Yeh Shadi Nahi hosakti” stuff like that. That sums up the entire episode 7. See how slow it was.
I am disappointed with Zid now and more importantly with bee gul, I heard good things about her and when I saw her wining the best writer award for DP i was really impressed. My problem with the script is that, the characters are not well developed. You have saman who has no limits who has been born and raised in Pakistan but she has not learnt anything from her surroundings. Similarly, you have Omar, who has been raised in the US, yet he is a complete desi Pakistani. He lives by himself, and is not in joint family, yet he has values that of a typical Pakistani husband living in Pakistan. Sometimes I feel that Saman is American and Omar is Pakistani who has married her for green card :) its like all the while both of them have been living in a bubble around them. they can see but can not absorb.
So overall. There was nothing in this week’s episode. Let’s hope that there is something which is worth reviewing.
