So, I haven’t been reviewing ZM for the past few weeks, mostly because I hadn’t watched any of the episodes due to the lack of time, you know Ramadan and all. But, it felt weird not reviewing it after the longest time, so here’s another review. I finally caught up to most of the episodes, and when I didn’t watch the episode, I would read Fatima’s reviews on DramasOnline which were very thorough. So, thanks for that Fatima! :)
Anyways, these past few episodes have shown major character development, some that seriously disappointed me. Aiman falls for Tahir (big surprise, I know), and wants to get married to him over Affan, to the point where she almost takes her life for it. An extremely pathetic decision which later on, her family has to pay the price for by hearing what other people have to say about it. Aiman is such a naive girl who really can’t tell anyone’s true colors. After this huge incident, Waqar agrees to getting Aiman married to Tahir. According to the promo for the next episode, that was a very bad decision.
Affan seriously cared for Aiman, and it was pretty obvious. But the way Aiman treated him back was extremely irrational and uncalled for. You can’t just mouth off to the person you’re engaged to without thinking before speaking. Affan seems like a reasonable person to me, and Aiman’s behavior was downright rude.
Aiman’s Nana is such a great addition to this story. Here’s a man whose daughter had left him to get married off to a guy, and now he’s basically seeing a rewind of that with Aiman’s situation. Sadly, he can’t do anything about it without seeming like the bad guy to Aiman.
Tahir just seriously needs a slap to the face. Is this guy bipolar or something? I mean he seems like a good guy, but recently he just seems really…off. Ruining Aiman and Affan’s relationship, being disrespectful to his Dada, apparently robbing the house and running away, are just not what we had seen before. He’s become really different now than he was before – unfortunately, Aiman just doesn’t know it yet.
Meanwhile, aside from the Aiman-Affan-Tahir issue, we see Momo actually questioning her friendship with Naaine (sp?). Before she didn’t exactly understand why everyone disliked her, but today after the little incident on the road, she saw something that she felt was pretty wrong of her. That girl has caused so much drama in their house and Momo still doesn’t fully understand her. We haven’t seen an interaction between the two after the little scene when Momo and Mehru went shopping. But, regardless she doesn’t seem that great of a girl.
Finally, Jojo is like this little sweet girl, who’s not really naive, but she knows where to draw the line. She knows how much drama is going on in the house, and I like how instead of adding to it, she tries to prevent it to the best of her ability. She tries to reach out to Aiman, whereas Aiman rejects her constantly. I really like her innocence and just her character in general.
Mehru might not have done some good actions in the past when it came to Aiman, but I can see how she might have been trying to fix her attitude. Before I thought it was plain evil because she was doing some of that out of spite, but now I feel that she sort of was trying to be a real caretaker of Aiman. She had a feeling as to what kind of path Aiman was going down on.
Waqar’s spoiledness has finally paid off. He does see why Aiman has become the girl that she has, and I do think he regrets it. In the promo however I think he shows some remorse after everything that has happened. Sadly, you can’t turn the clock back, and you just have to deal with whatever happens.
Lastly, Babur is kind of a male version of Jojo (haha :D). He likes to keep the peace in the house, and give second chances most of the time. Sadly, Aiman does take advantage of that alot. Regardless, his character seems really nice to me.
Overall, an intense episode filled with drama is what amazes me about ZM. Every episode just delivers so well, and it’s amazing how I never feel that there are too many slow episodes. There might have been one or two, but other than that, it seems wonderful how every episode is quite happening in terms of events and actions. There’s no black-or-white characters but everyone’s pretty justified in their behavior. It’s not like ‘Oh, that character is totally evil’ or ‘Oh, she’s an angel’. Everyone has their insecurities, and they just seem human. I like that about Zard Mausam, and I’m sticking with it to the last episode.
