I’m loving Zard Mausam and it’s ability to portray so much at the right pace, in simply one episode. I personally wouldn’t change a thing about today’s piece at all. Awesome performances, storyline, and directing!
To start off, Waqar has finally come back after working overseas, and is now extremely worried about Aiman’s more-of-a-withdrawn character. He questions Mehru, and as usual, she lies about it. Aiman, on the other hand, is thrilled for a split-second after seeing that her father is back, but then goes back to being reserved. However, during a conversation with Waqar, she breaks down and tells him a little of what she went through in the whole time frame of when Waqar was away. This leads Waqar to become concerned and later on begin Aiman’s marriage by getting her engaged.
Mehru, today, showed her cunning side by slowly coercing Aiman into moving back into her room, and generally becoming more nicer towards her. It would be nice to think that Babur’s conversation with her had changed her thought process, but alas, that isn’t what happened. Waqar’s arrival was more of a reason for this sudden change, not her son’s apprehensiveness. There’s more to her than meets the eye, but we just haven’t seen it unfold yet.
Furthermore, Aiman and her grandfather are seen to get along and actually grow to care for each other. For Aiman, her grandfather is a person who she can confide all of her feelings that she is unable to at her own house, especially after Waqar’s departure. Her grandfather in return, also gives her advice that she uses to overcome some of those feelings, and the best advice he gives today is to always remain strong, no matter what the situation. They have great chemistry, and their scenes made me smile. I liked how they didn’t show each and every single one of their conversations and waste time for all that, but remained consistent.
Finally, Tahir and Aiman patch things up after the weirdness that occured previously. I liked how they showed that side of him, and not the sort-of-insolence that he shows with his grandfather at times. To add to that, I simply love the scenes with him and his grandfather because no matter how much they seem to “hate” or “grow tired” of each other, they know they’re nothing without one or the other nor can live without each other.
From playing the spoiled, arrogant to playing the distraught, hurt girl, Aiza Khan has done a wonderful job! The effort of the rest of the cast cannot be gone without being mentioned, because each and every single character has done an amazing job! Not only that, but I’m loving the concise detail that is put in each scene, and making sure a scene isn’t overly long. Whether or not there are dialogues or the character is just brooding, the scenes are not stretched at all. So, great job guys!
To conclude, lovely episode! Looking forward to the next installment of Zard Mausam!
