The subcontinent though has observed more than a half century of separation that was specifically assumed for the sake of the leading life with ideology and cultures poles apart. However, both the countries seem inseparable when it actually comes on culture talk. Marriages being major part of both the countries culture also have the major impact on the media and entertainment industry. In Pakistan, it seems that only entertainment remained is to watch the programs which revolve around from match making to the lavish wedding decors, designers dresses and all that Bollywood style hangamas with bunch of some lame dances.
In dramas, “Annie ki ayegi baraat” ( 4th season of Azar ki ayegi baraat) is listed on top with the 4th season, whose story revolves around marriage ceremonies. Nonetheless all dramas in this particular series are truly a treat to watch with the humour of Saima Choudhry (Bushra Ansari) and Hina Dilpazeer as an added ingredient this season. Whereas dramas like “Shadi Mubarak” and “Meri behan meri devrani” on ARY digital and “Kon banega meera pati” and Pak villa of geo tv seems truly worthless. “Pak Villa” though has a nice concept but high reliance on Bollywood songs and concepts brought high disappointment, with bunch of married couples with odd situations and jokes.
Never the less, the morning tv shows has also played their fullest role in depicting marriages in the specific bolly style, with the prolific arrangement prevailing the concept of big fat marriages within the country. The trend started by showing remarriages of celebrity couples to the marriages of orphan girls from the Social Foundations. The funny part is the match making that has become part of this morning mafia. One wonders how people are so stupid to discuss such personal and sensitive issues in public, are they so desperate to be in front of television screens or really Pakistani parents are driving out of good marriage proposal that make them so helpless to become part of such pathetic dramas.
It is real time to realize that industry really needs some good and breathe taking issues which could be beneficial and entertaining at the same time.
