The story has gotten serious and at times I want to rename it ‘pyar key side effects”. Dilkush , like most teenagers. Is totally unaware of the amount of hurt and pain she has caused her mother and continues to trample merrily on her feelings while trying to keep herself in Samir Malik’s good books. I actually feel badly for her mother Firdause, who seems genuinely wounded by her daughter’s actions. Hina Bayat as always looks amazing and brings depth to her role .Gohar Mumtaz is a very convincing as Samir but I wonder what Dilkush actually sees in her serious minded, older husband, most girls her age want someone fun to hang out with. The best scenes have to be of Samir and Dilkush in what looks to be their garden. They are well shot and provide a shot of actual romance and fun in a serial which seems to be getting more and more serious.
It is no surprise but the songs are wonderful and well worth watching this entire serial for. They are beautifully picturised if in the same location every time , but still nicely done .I for one had been hoping for more integrated songs but at this point I will take what I can get .
Dilkush is very young and incredibly silly, demanding a baby, then pouting at having to study again, oh and constantly lying herself into one situation after another. I think her character needs to show some more growth. Happily the writer avoided quite a few of the boring clichés we are forced to sit through with any drama about newlyweds.
This serial started off with a bang and now seems to have slowed down and I am not sure where it is going exactly. The quality of both acting, direction and editing has gotten better and better. I know serials are not shot in episode order but, it seems that by episode 12 at least Gohar Mumtaz and Mehar Bano had managed to develop some rapport but they still lack any real romantic chemistry which is the heart of this story. I have said before that Amin Iqbal knows how to put together a serious story and I really look forward to him directing a thriller but romance seems missing .
