Penned down by Maha Malik directed by Yasir Nawaz and stars Imran Abbas, Ayeza Khan, Ali Abbas, Qavi Khan and Hina Bayat among others. It’s a novel based drama and knowing the story I still give it a shot because of Imran Abbas. He was phenomenal in MNHY. Ayeza Khan is making her comeback after two whole years. The first episode kicks off on Urdu 1.
Ramish Hasan is one of the most humblest, handsome, educated business man we have ever seen and is totally opposite of his manipulative, proud father Muzaffar Hasan. Because of their different personalities almost every time there is some conflict going on. The only thing I liked about Ramish that he has made some principles and follows it firmly as shown.
Elma Ali, the perfect girl is the daughter of Waqar Ali. She has two sisters and she looks after the house as her mother is no more. Her father is a dignified man and works in Muzaffar Hasan’s office. Despite of being cousins with MH, he is nothing more than an employ for MH.
On the other hand we are also introduced to Zarabab’s (ALI ABBAS) family. He has one brother Arif & sister Sobia. He is intrested in sobia’s friend Javeria. Hina Bayat plays the character of Sharafat Khala, a possessive, flinty, strong and a calculated mother. She is not at all a fan of Javeria & definitely feels that she wants to be with Zarbab. Zarbab is the only earner in the family & is in deep love with Javeria.
The highlight of the episode was the first encounter between Elma & Ramish. Waqar Ali fainted in the office & Ramish brings him home. In the scene Imran Abbas expressions remind me of Yousuf, they were on point than Ayeza. The eye locks were too long & the background score was too high. During their gazing course it feels like Elma is not comfortable yet after few minutes later her conversation with Ramish suggested that she is quite well & gives him a love lesson, wow so romantic, no! Also like across the border serials a person is in bad state but lead characters need to romance & loud music plays TUM KON PIYA. Sigh.
Performance wise, every one played their part well yet for me Hina Bayat’s presence as usual delightful. Ayeza Khan comes back after Pyare Afzal & best actress award with this project so I am hoping good from her. Till now her character says Gharelo Haseen aurat jisko mohabbat kerna acha lagta hai aur jis pe Ramish Latto hogaye because she is the only pretty girl he has ever seen in his whole rich life. Tears coming soon…….
The episode starts off in a filmy manner, the DDLJ scene. Dialogues were nice. The problem is the script is very weak. There is nothing new that is being instigated. Same problems (Larki ki Shaadi, Class differences, tooo good lead characters that we only find in dramas etc) represented in the same ghissa pitta way that actually left a bad taste. The story is so damn predictable . But I am curious to see if any new additions or subtractions being made in the story.
Thinking that what is it with the drama content? So many dramas start so well, have an amazing cast but fall shortly. I cannot accept the fact that writers are short of ideas. That’s being said let see what they have in store for us.
