Compared to the first episode I found this episode quite boring, not much happened. It was evident from the first episode that cracks were appearing in Numair and Aleena’s marriage. I was completely surprised when Numair said he will divorce her and she takes it so coolly and is like, “main bhi tang aa gayi hoon”. It is said, “ek aurat hi ghar ko banaati hai aur ek aurat hi ghar ko bigaadti hai”, this I feel is absolutely true in Aleena’s case, I even find her quite immature, like when she is supposed to be worried, she has this childish expressions on her face and even her body language is like that. Though having said that I do feel Numair is equally responsible for the problems in the marriage. Men think that it is only their wives’ responsibility to raise their children, but no, a child needs his father as much as he needs his mother. Both of them are doing nothing to talk it out and solve the problems. From the looks of it the divorce is definitely on the cards and I am worried what will happen to the children? They are already quite spoiled and the divorce will take a toll on them.
The evil stepmother Asiya was seen meting out the same treatment to poor Shahtaj, I wish she were a little more firm while telling off her stepmother who is now hellbent on getting her married to her widower brother Imtiaz. The scene between Shahtaj and Muneer touched me, it was nice to someone in the family (other than her father) showing sympathy to her and treating her like a human being. Sumbul Iqbal, always has the same expressions on her face, yes, she is playing a bechaari type of character but she can still work on her facial expressions. But my heart goes out to the poor girl, I do hope things change for her soon.
The scene where Numair and his entire family including parents are gathered was nicely done. Ayesha and Usman like any other parents seemed worried, they can see their only son’s marriage is falling apart and neither their son nor their bahu are willing to compromise. They are trying to knock sense into both of them, but it’s pretty much going in vain.
Shahood Alvi, Savera Nadeem, Ismat Zaidi and the man who plays Shahood/Numair’s father (I do not know his name) are playing their characters very well, I have no complains there.
According to the promo for next week, Numair and Aleena are most likely going to get divorced. I don’t like those kind of promos that give out too much and kill the suspense, Teri Berukhi’s promo did exactly that but nonetheless I am still looking forward to seeing what happens next. I also wish that the story picks up pace, and more drama happens.
