What a wonderful episode, this was so much fun. I think it should be subtitled “the limits of attraction”. What exactly is attraction? A funny little feeling we only understand when it’s not there. Bilal is not attracted to Zaib , he might like talking to her for a few minutes on the phone ,but really what importance do those fleeting moments of conversation have when making such a serious decision as he is. Whether Zaib realises it or not: she has had a lucky escape. Bilal and his family are not looking for a girl like her and such a marriage would only lead to unhappiness on both sides.
Zaib thought she could manipulate the situation by making Bilal meet Natasha and he would see how much of a better choice she was but it all went in the entirely opposite direction. Bilal finds Natasha “attractive” because she is superficially what he is looking for and as to Natasha , I don’t think she knows what she wants beyond anything Zaib might have So Bilal and Natasha click , while Zaib clicks with the sister in law played so well by Maheen Rizvi . Meanwhile it seems as if Natasha and her telephone boyfriend are seriously unclicking that too, at light speed. It was actually quite strange to see a woman having a flirtation without being cast as a vamp or a victim. It is so funny when the poor soon to be ex-boyfriend threatens to kill himself at the front gate while Natasha seems indifferent to the point of boredom.
Bechari Zaib, this is just not her episode, just when she needs a little support even her work colleague Mikaal lets her down by offering a few empty platitudes and then running off. How Zaib, or more precisely Zaib’s ego would like him to declare some kind of deep emotion for her but Mr Mikaal is just not that into her. My favourite part of this episode had to be the look on Mohammad Ahmed’s face when everyone suggests Bilal and Natasha go to the balcony to get to know each other: that was just perfect.
I really enjoyed this episode, full of reasonable people making reasonable mistakes. Well directed (but please the scenes need to stay short for me at least) and well-acted. With a witty, sparkling script carried by all the actors without a single missed step. Both Amna and Mira looked great and played their parts so well, it is hard to believe Mira is new at this .Danyal Raheel is so much better than he was in Dastaan , when I remember asking in irritation …”who is that ?!”. Amna looked lovely in her white suite and I am just desperately waiting for her to be matched with Adeel Hassan, as I think they are going to be the high light of this serial. I do want Zaib to have some fun in life even if she is the ancient age of 29…
