Over the past weekend I decided to catch a new drama on ARY that had started. There is a deluge of dramas these days but none have really kept me interested and so am hoping Shukk is an exception.
I was excited to watch this as it has two of my favourite actors Adeel Hussain and Sanam Saeed, and it is also written by the talented Samira Fazal. The other cast members include Ayesha Khan and Jibran and it is directed by Yasir Nawaz.
It seems to have all the hallmarks of a good drama, lets hope it does not disappoint.
The story revolves around a married couple Ihtesham and Sehrish who have been together for 7 years and seem happily married.
It starts out with the suspense of showing sham going to see a female work colleague while his wife is cooking him dinner and baking a cake.
We later find out it was their anniversary and the story starts from there . They seem to have a loving relationship however Sehrish is very sensitive about them being childless and is pushing her husband to see a dr who is not exactly jumping with joy at the idea.
Another couple we were introduced to were the irritating friends they had, a couple with a son who Sehrish goes overboard in showing affection to every time she sees, due to no child of her own. However, they are very nosy, meddling and trouble makers and have already made their mark with their intrusiveness. I definitely foresee more problems lying ahead due to these two.
We have yet to see Sanam Saeed make her entry, but I must say I enjoyed the first episode, it was well paced, to the point scenes and everyone acted pretty well. The story seems interesting and am hoping it is something different.
I am looking forward to how this one pans out!
Did anyone catch this? Please share your views about what you thought:)
