Finally the serial has come to an end and it was a bittersweet moment for me. I do feel the serial could have been much better as the story had a lot of potential but the writer and the casting director have been disappointed me a lot and to an extent the director too.
Coming back to the last episode, Kiran sets on a journey to her city with a heavy heart as her past (little did she know that would become her future too?) is attached with the city of Karachi. She comes back and makes a sincere effort in meeting all the people who were once a part of her life, who brought her immense happiness, people like Mr Joseph, Siraj baba, and her teacher in the institute. But all of them have gone on a different journey themselves. She wasn’t destined to meet these people but the one whom she had loved with all her heart.
Dawood, on the other hand has no hopes of finding Kiran back, he had rather kept himself busy and trying to do something special for all those people in Kiran’s life whom she had left behind and the things that gave her satisfaction and joy. He sets up a library, financially aids Siraj baba’s family and has completely transformed Mr Joseph who once lived a destitute life. Dawood has also learnt the reason behind sudden disappearance of Kiran from his life and it is none other than his mother who finally told him the truth, I think the scene could have been more impactful, Saba and Mohib kind of disappointed me.
Fahad and Umar’s surprise was fantastic! I am glad Umar was somehow able to convince Kiran and get her back in Karachi. I loved how Dawood and Kiran looked extremely surprised and were angry with each other for leaving them and getting engaged to someone else respectively, it just reminded me of something very sweet that happened in my life. And is it only me or did you guys want them to hug and make up? I wish a choti si hug would have made the scene where Dawood takes her to a corner to speak even more special and I also wish the scene was a little longer so as to give the viewers a bit more time to see Kiran and Dawood together on screen after a long time. Oh I found it weird that Roshani, her husband Junaid and Fahad’s wife Sania were missing from library’s inauguration ceremony, I mean come on Dawood was venturing in a different field, as a family they should have been there to make the moment special for him.
Shab-e-Arzoo Ka Aalam saw a good performance from Asad, Mohib Mirza. However, I think Mansha Pasha’s talent has been wasted, she deserved a stronger role. Armeena Rana Khan did a decent job in the last two episodes otherwise she has been a huge letdown, I still wish they had chosen some seasoned actress to play Kiran. Anyhow, it’s all over and done with and Kiran and Dawood have reunited! Yay!
