Such a a powerful and gripping episode. After the susupence that had been building up for the last week or so, I was expecting an entertaining episode but this was way better than anything I had expected.
Gohar’s words at saying good bye to Aurang proved to be ominous and prophetic. He sarcastically said, he will return when someone will die and now Aurang will have to come back, not to celebrate Gohar’s wedding but to come to his funeral.
Gohar was a coward, he tried to intimidate people with his gun and his rich father’s connections but when the time came to face the music, he cried like a baby. True depiction of a rapist, he can try to force himself on a helpless girl who cannot defend herself but when the time came to face a few men, he begged for his life.
If a lie is repeated enough times, eventually people will start believing it. That was exactly what happened in Shireen’s case. Her brother trusted her and sided with her when his own wife tried to poison him against her but she did enough to sow the seed of suspicion in his heart and when Tora Khan’s sidekick repeated the same accusation, Saif Ur Rehman believed him. The trap was set for Shireen by her bhabi and for Gohar by Tora Khan but it was Saif Ur Rehmwn who got trapped eventually. Now once again I am left curious as to how will this entire story play out. In these areas ” Khoon Baha ” is a common practice, so it would not be surprising if Gulistan Khan asks for Shireen’s hand in marriage for either one of his sons as Khoon Baha but all that depends on whether the truth will come out. So far, S-U-R believes it was his sister and not her friend Durkhani who came to the Kaala Teela to meet Gohar Khan. So when he reaches home, he might try to kill Shireen too.
Tora Khan has taken his revenge. He wanted Gohar dead, not only did he have a score to settle with Gohar but also with Gulistan Khan and so aik teer say do shikaar keyay Tora Khan nay, saanp bhe mar Gaya aur laathe bhe nahi tooti. No one has a clue as to who is the mastermind behind all this. I kept remembering Shameem’s words when she scolded Sher Bano and said something like, she will end up getting someone hurt thanks to her Rona dhona and shekaayetain, well as it turns out her fears were justified.
The story took some very unexpected turns and I wasn’t sure there will be so many new developments at such an early stage but I am loving the fast pace and the brilliant performances. Durkhani went to meet Gohar and although her face was covered, her eyes were so expressive, we could see every emotion from heartbreak to suspicion, from shock to anger, this girl is one talented actress. Gohar was also not to be outdone by Durkhani, the actor playing this role was fabulous. He made hating Gohar so easy, this character could become Charming whenever he wanted , to an inexperienced eye he was the guy next door, harmless and happy go lucky, it was only when he was alone with his trusted friends or during his last scene with Dukhani when his true nature was revealed and that was pure evil. Kudos to the actor for an amazing performance, th drama would not be the same without Gohar.
Durkhani’s delimma before her last trip to Kaala Teela was so realistic. Despite of knowing the truth about Gohar she did not wish to believe it. She kept making excuses for him, the poor girl was so in love, lastly she convinced Shireen to let her go only so she would ask Gohar to send his mother to her house to ask for her hand in marriage. I have to admit, the editing was superb and the writer did such a superb job at creating and maintaining suspense. Till the last moment I was hoping and praying for Shireen to change her mind and stay home. I was under the impression that Gohar and Durkhani would be caught red handed and maybe SUR would shoot them as soon as he laid eyes on them. Durkhani survived and so far SUR does not know that it was she, so the susupence continues.
At the end the ” dunbay wala’s ” dance in the field says a lot about the culture. That was a victory dance, th celebration of Gohar’s death and the success of Tora Khan’s plans. This is of course only the 5th episode so there is a lot more to come, can’t wait for the next episode.
