Penned by Mona Haseeb and Directed by Haseeb Hasan is another love story under Momina Duraid Productions. Osman Khalid Butt as HARIB comes back to screens along with Hareem Farooq as Ayla,Maya Ali as Aan and Hina Bayat as Aan\’s Mother amongst others.
In the very first instalment We saw Harib\’s and Ayla marriage, who were in Love (??) well before and decided to get married now! Ayla is suffering from a mental disorder (audience knows it) and showing symptoms to which Harib\’s reaction shows that He is unaware of it! Their meeting hasn\’t been shown instead we got a hint that Ayla used to work in his office or may be they are family friends in casual conversations which I like and further detail should be given in the same manner rather than Step by Step. Furthermore He takes Ayla\’s mood swings as a product of her life\’s bitter circumstances. Hmmm
It\’s quite evident that Harib is more in Love than Ayla. I liked the balcony scene. Harib serves breakfast to wife (I liked it,Shukr no typical scene) & ate Aan\’s Anda Paratha! Why u didn\’t had a slice and cup of milk while making Ayla\’s breakfast.??
Well where Harib is calm collected self-made man who believes in giving space, friendly and polite or I should call bit too soft! On the other hand is Stubborn and dominant Ayla.
If the writer chose this Bi-Polar Mental disease to educate audience and present solution or some kind of an effort to help the sufferer than I feel satisfied but making a sufferer an ultimate villain and her surrounding as Victim of her actions than this is absolutely wrong! I did tried to learn a little about this disorder & it\’s pretty a dangerous disease as even the person who is going through it cannot detect that he/she is having it and also very difficult for others to understand. Hoping that Ayla wasn\’t going through this or had it but as I said before was hidden, when They met & now this sickness took the centre stage only then Harib\’s reactions towards her mood swings are justified otherwise not. Time will Tell! I\’m ready to learn more about Ayla Ji!
Osman Khalid Butt did a really decent job, but He needs to lose himself in romantic scenes,It feels as if he is restricting him which looks unnatural and awkward. It was good to see him being easy in some romantic parts here but not as a whole! Also Harib needs to silent his phone in office if it was such an important meeting! Hareem Farooq is a strong actress yet she wasn\’t that much impressive except at few points!
For Osman And Hareem, they look good together but completely miss that chemistry click. It wasn\’t the case when Ali and Hareem came as Suhaib and Arjumund.
Hina Bayat as Aan\’s mother was something I throughly enjoyed & loved, the way she walks, talks and all those details in her home showed their background. Her ambition is to find a good man for her daughter so that She and her daughter will get rid from their past! A good thinking of a not so educated mother! Here comes her husband\’s spirit Qureshi Sahab a Butcher! (played by Abid Sir) who actually wanted that both of his women should remain with his family and gave a WakeUp call to his Wife that things will not/ never change so easily as they appear to be.
AAN the only child of Mr. & Mrs. Qureshi quiet, calm, caring, want to stay connected to her roots and Apne Kaam Se Kaam Rakhne Waali, is it so, well who knows!! I will not call her Bholi Larki as for now. For me her brief appearance showed that she is sensible, educated, a person who has grip over reality, not a pretentious lady and is not interested in getting married.
The first meetup of Aan and Harib was cute and simple. But I want to include there should be more coverage of Aan too if she really is among lead cast.
Harib\’s best friend is Shehroz played by Emaad Irfani and I really liked him. I found the conversation between him and Harib quite natural and enjoyed Osman and Emaad together. It is still to find out what kind of an image Shehroz has of Ayla as shown that He is still on the edge about her. His perspective definitely contradicts with his friend\’s one.
I will not say that this episode was a knockout or brilliant one yet it was a decent beginning! Something fresh and Young. I will definitely give a shot to Mona Haseeb\’s writing. I don\’t want to be judgmental right from the start where only a bigger picture is shown. Direction was good but pace was a little slow. For many it\’s a confusing start or just that they are remembering and comparing this drama with previous ones, so Hold on guys just give it a shot until it completely loses its nuts and then I will join You all! ;)) All what audience want is a *SENSIBLE*story where heart and logic are on the same page and they can be! Until next time keep sharing! For Rants and Feedback you are most welcome
