Ek jama ek jama ho ya na ho, Khalil Shano mein se minus nahin ho sakta… Shano trusts Khalil blindly and can’t imagine living without him. At the same time, it’s interesting to note that from the very beginning, it wasn’t marriage that Shano was concerned about. Shano’s love for Khalil is unrequited and she expects nothing in return. She surrendered to her parents more than once because deep down she feels they are not destined to get married. Yet, their union is one of the souls and that doesn’t require them to be physically together.
Meri jaisi toh bohut hain Ammi Ji, par aap jaisi toh purey gaoun men toh kya, purey jagg mein nahin… Upon their return, Rasheeda lashed out at Shano but this time around, Amin put his foot down and told Rasheeda that he has given his word and he sees no reason to torture Shano any further. I think Amin is completely maxed out by Rasheeda’s games and he just wants to put an end to this madness. Rasheeda is on a mission to find her own happy ending at any cost- if she can’t be with Abdul Rehman, she would want to see him suffer for the rest of his life through his Khalil- a boy he raised as his own.
Shano has been very vocal about her Khalil from a very young age. Humaira has known love only through Shano’s version of her own love story and Humaira has built up Khalil’s image in her mind as the perfect man. When Shano casually mentions that she won’t be envious of the woman who marries Khalil, Humaira can’t help imagining herself as the woman who would marry Khalil. The last few minutes of the episode was Humaira’s dream sequence- she fantasized about experiencing everything that Shano has narrated about how they eloped. Shano has lived through one too many azmaish and the last thing she needs is to compete with someone who has been her lifelong confidant.
I have loved Sadqay Tumharey and for that, I’ve brushed aside many of its flaws. However, I think hearing the Saeein Ji say “help” was a bit much. Set in a village, I would’ve liked to hear more of the local dialect along with Urdu but the casual use of English being used just seems out of place. Khalil is chasing after Shano but every time he takes one step forward, there’s someone who pulls her two steps backwards. In the midst of his worries, his Maami suggests that he gives up seeking Shano and looks at other options- Dilshaad , her sister who has fallen head-over-heels in love with Khalil. I hope we don’t have to deal with another obstacle in their stressful journey.
Bi Ji and Abdul Rehman made the trip to Shano’s home to finalize a tareekh for the Nikah. Rasheeda huffed and puffed and walked out but Amin was adamant and even went as far as saying that Itwaar ko nikah hoga chahe mein marr jaoun ya Rasheeda marr jaye… I’m afraid Amin Janjua spoke at the time of qubuliyat ki ghari and his fate is sealed.
I am no longer surprised by anything Rasheeda says or does and frankly, I don’t care anymore. She is a despicable human being with no hint of a conscience. Itna shauq hai na pyaar karney walon ko milaane ka??? Apki beti se puraana pyaar hai mera- bees saal puraana- wohh Amin Janjua ke bachey paida karne se pyaar khatam nahin hota! Any other man would have left Rasheeda a long, long time ago, but Amin loves her so deeply he’d rather die than part ways with the woman he worships. Sadly, this may be the last time we see Amin Janjua- a man of renewed determination who was fighting for the sake of his daughter’s happiness.
Each episode keeps me glued and wanting more. Sadqay Tumharey is a tragic love story but the journey is one not to be missed. As much as I’m awaiting next week, I’m secretly dreading it too because it may mark the end of Shano and Khalil if Humaira has her way.
