Disney had us believe that in the fight between good and evil, good always prevails. But this isn’t Disney and things are a far cry in real/ reel life. Jo apni beti ka khoon pi jaye, uski koi izzat nahin hoti! The mukhbari ensured that Thekedaar Amin and Thanedaar Sahab raided Bi Ji’s home in the middle of the night. Even during such trying times, Khalil had a hard time trying to keep his temper in check. His shock and dismay at finding out his Shano was about to marry someone else was holding him back from thinking straight- Nikah ke sadqay sabko maaf kardo… Oh Shano, if only you knew what Khalil would be forced to do sadqay tumharey.
With everyone backing up Khalil and Shano, Khalil was confident he wouldn’t fail- imtehaan mein main kabhi fail nahin hota… Little did Khalil know what he was up against! Hai hai Sheeda, fittay moun tera, teri toh matt maari gayi hai! Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and Rasheeda is living proof of this. Rasheeda played her cards right- this woman knew exactly how to corner Khalil and get rid of him for good. She spent years plotting her revenge and even though at times it seemed like she was losing control, she knew how to swing things back in her favour. Her own mother was disappointed by the kanjar she chose for Shano! Kanjar se yaad aya, today’s episode was the perfect example of paisa vasool- Romance, action, drama, a well-executed escape… It gave me such a high all the way until Rasheeda appeared. I liked how Khalil sprung into action and kidnapped Mushtaaq Bhai to be his designated driver- Iski behen kho gayi thi, apney baap ke saath dhoondne aya tha… KuR Sahab’s dialogues never disappoint! Each episode is unique in its own way but this one was exceptional. The cameo of Khala Ji- the beloved Dadi from Aunn Zara was a delight; Bi Ji’s thappar was another great moment- I so wish Bi Ji would’ve delivered some of those thappars on her Sheeda- God knows she needed them!
Even Molvi Sahab was willing to bend the rules for the sake of Khalil and Shano – I loved his emotional speech about Shano’s paakdaami… Khuda ke naam pe yeh larki apni marzi se nikah karney chali hai… But as they say, all good things must come to an end and so came the moment for Khalil and Shano to be torn apart. Mahira Khan has probably given her career best performance as Shano- every single facial expression has been spot on; Adnan Malik is someone to watch out for- I was teary-eyed when he took an oath that he would never visit again. Sadqay Tumharey is not flawless but it never fails to impress. I have savored every bit of it but in true KuR style, we’re in for a tragic end.
