Agli baar jab bolaogay toh samjhoun gein meri baraat ayi hai… bhaagi chali aaoun gein… Although Shano was bold enough to go and meet Khalil in the dead of the night, she looked disappointed when she heard what he had to say. I think Shano was never considering eloping as a solution but for the sake of Khalil, she expressed her consent. Khalil and gang made their way to Bi Ji- their naani. I would’ve liked to see Nani taking a stronger stand than agreeing to the secret nikah but it seems everyone has complete faith in the union of Khalil and Shano. At Nani’s home, there’s another fasaad ki jarh– her bahu I’m guessing. For some reason, she wasn’t looking to pleased with everyone coming over. Somehow, I wasn’t convinced with Shano today- we got to see a completely different side to her which was more like Rasheeda than Shano. The Shano we’ve seen and loved all along has been one who knows her limits and stays within them- I found it hard to believe that the same Shano would even dare to step out of her house after being grounded by her father and that too in the late hours of the night and making her sister an accomplice to it. Secondly, when Mustaaq came over with his mother for Shano’s rishta, the way Shano mocked him and her choice of words were unconvincing. I know Khalil Sahab has a penchant for such lingo, but somehow hearing Shano speak that way was disappointing.

Rasheeda is living up to the reputation of the nagin who’s out to ruin everyone including her own offspring. Is this woman truly as heartless as she is shown? Does she not for a moment try to rationalize her behaviour or understand the repercussions? I understand that under no circumstances would she allow Shano to marry Khalil but accepting a proposal from a guy she met just a few minutes ago is a bit much. Ammi ki position aisi hi hai ke wohh kisi bhi kuttay billi ko haan kardein… Mushtaq’s mother seemed logical enough for a moment but despite seeing and hearing everything Shano has to say, she still went ahead and agreed to the jhat-pat nikah?

The only scene that made sense today was the one between Humaira and Molvi Sahab- Kyun gayi thi wohh? Ghalat kiya hai usney… Na farmaani ki hai usnay… Molvi Sahab seems to be the only reasonable one around. I like how he has constantly reminded the girls that their utmost duty lies in respecting and obeying their parents. If it weren’t for Rasheeda, I’d say Amin is a caring and loving father but the poor guy can’t think for himself. He can’t see the games Rasheeda has been playing since he is completely blinded by his love for her. Since Amin is convinced that he would never consider Khalil, he will surely go ahead and agree to any suitor Rasheeda suggests. Seeing the promo for next week, nikah preps are in full swing but the question remains- akhir nikah hoga kiska? We’ve already seen 16 episodes and I hope that this drama doesn’t drag beyond 20 since there’s not really much left to happen. I have this sinking feeling that Shano marr jayegi since I know Khalil Sahab toh marney se rahey… It’s sad since poor Shano has been physically and verbally abused by her mother so maybe death will be her freedom!
