Koi Pyaar joga nahin hota toh koi ikhtiyaar joga nahin hota… Khalil and Shano are helplessly consumed by the power of love. Banda jab bebas hojata hai toh samjho Khuda ka dakhl hein usmey… Both Khalil and Shano believe their love is of the spiritual kind and it was their destiny. This explains their fatal attraction and why Khalil can’t stop himself from going again and again to Shano’s home in the hopes that he can soften her parents and convince them of agreeing to their union. Khalo Amin was ready to accept Khalil as a suitable match for Shano but Rasheeda used her confidential meeting with Pa Ji Abdul Rehman as an excuse to defame him and ensure Amin severes all ties with Inayat’s family. As Abdul Rehman narrates to Inayat, Rasheeda loot le gi sab kuch. Rasheeda has conveniently erased all her gunaah and given the chance she would jump at the opportunity of uniting with Abdul Rehman. Somehow, since she has managed to manipulate Amin all through their marriage, she is convinced she can do the same with Abdul Rehman. She rubs the incident at the hotel every chance she gets to reinstate her innocence and how she was exploited. Any other woman would have been grateful for such a kind and understanding husband who not only forgave her for her past but has never let it affect his marriage. He is dying a slow death with the reminders but is man enough to not allow his anger to overpower him. Although, secretly I’m hoping Amin would give Rasheeda a big, tight chapait for everything she has been scheming all these years!
Shano saw right through her mother’s act. She challenged her father to hold a meeting with Abdul Rehman to find out what actually transpired. Rasheeda’s insecurities at being caught made her resort to violence yet again. I felt sorry for Rasheeda’s children- seeing their mother act like a maniac and remain constantly frustrated is bound to take a toll on them. Shano is trapped with knowing exactly how evil her mother truly is and not being able to do anything about it. I don’t understand Rasheeda- I can see her hatred stems from her own ugly past but she treats Shano and the rest of her children with absolutely no compassion whatsoever. She has been blessed with a loving husband and five children but she is so obsessed with herself that she can’t be a mother to any of them. Somehow, I think subconsciously, she sees Shano as competition because Shano has the courage to stand up to her and show her the mirror without really saying anything.
Khalil found out about his mother’s past today through Doctor. Abdul Rehman is convinced that the only way out is a court marriage. Khalil, accompanied by Doctor goes to Shano’s gaoun and sends a paighaam through Humaira that he wants to meet with her. Shano has been grounded by her father after she dared to doubt her mother. I’m glad that Humaira and Shano are still good friends even though Abdul Rehman used his contacts to send her Mama to jail and cost him his job. Amin knows exactly how resourceful Abdul Rehman is and until recently, he always had utmost respect for him but Rasheeda made sure that all of that changes. I don’t see Shano going through with the court marriage- I think she’d sooner consider poisoning herself than running away. I think even Khalil is not completely convinced that eloping is the solution to their misery.
Once again, I am completely smitten by Sadqay Tumharey especially Khalil and Shano. The story is moving very slowly but that doesn’t take away from it in the least. I am savoring every episode and enjoying the beautifully written dialogues that are high on emotions and leave their mark everytime. There are many times where I feel that maybe there’s more to Rasheeda’s story but I remind myself that the writer has written his personal story so he can only narrate it from his perspective. I have loved the use of the background score but today I felt it was too loud at times so much so that I couldn’t really enjoy the conversation between Inayat and Khalil. The preview from next week shows that Rasheeda is playing matchmaker once again and is now considering the uncouth Mushtaq! Run, Shano, Run!!!
