After watching today’s episode, I must say that I agree with Drama Buff, too much talking and too little action can be extremely boring. The story is moving at a snail’s pace and I am finding it hard to sympathize with any of the characters at this point mainly due to the repetition. The performances were brilliant as usual but all the characters are so “lost” that it frustrates me sometimes. There isn’t one character in the play that is headed towards the right direction. Sakina trusts Anjay, of all the people in the world and now she maybe thinking that Najma is Rafique’s Sabz Pari. Shafique will continue running after Najma even though she has clearly said to him she is not interested in marrying him. Anjay is all bad and gets away with everything. Rafique is obviously a hopeless case, obsessed with the Sabz Pari and under the influence of drugs all the time. The only voice of reason is Shafique’s transgender friend and he seems to be giving Shafique the wrong advice now. There should at least be one character in every play that one can totally fall in love with or completely sympathize with.
Now for the developments in today’s episode; Rafique and Shafique both moved out of the house and Sakina was left alone to cope up with things. Sakina had her usual not having enough food to eat problems. I was hoping she would start working for Arham or Maliha and that ought to bring a nice twist to the story but that does not seem to be happening anytime soon. Kareema is trying her utmost to blackmail Arham’s mother but she will have none of it. Arham’s ‘secret’ may be out soon since Rafique, the new drug supplier, came to Arham’s house to deliver drugs and Kareema was very curios about the whole thing. I have a feeling that Kareema may start blackmailing Arham now; the woman will do anything to earn some “extra” money. Shafique spotted Najma with Anjay and is unsure about Najma’s “commitment” to him, one that she never made. There was a lot of talking in today’s episode, the conversation between Anjay and Najma, Shafique and Dhama, Anjay and Sakina, all were never-ending and very repetitive.
Overall this episode was on the slow side, like I said the performances stayed top-notch as usual but the story really needs to move forward. I must add though that A & B Productions’ OSTs are very catchy and melodious. Who could think that a song with the title Sabz Pari Laal Kabooter could be sung the way it has been.
