First things first. Last week I made my mother watch Saat Pardon Mein’s first episode. Soon after the episode was over she told me bluntly ‘Yeh drama to bilkul bekar tha’. I thought I would be watching the next week’s episode on net and I did too not because my mother didn’t allow me to (the only time she was interested in Shehr e Zaat was when they were going to show Tabinda’s face) but because I got home late. I caught my mother watching Saat Pardon Mein so I guess it’s kind of intriguing and grows on to you.
The last episode saw Darakshande calling Ahsan Murad. So what did she say to him in this episode? Practically nothing on first few times. She was so damn nervous on hearing Ahsan’s voice that she forgot everything. I can understand this and smiled when she called Ahsan for the second time and didn’t say anything. This scene was cute.
Failing in her attempt to talk to him on phone she writes him a letter on Gulabi’s suggestion. From where they got Ahsan’s address I don’t know. On second thoughts, facebook again. It’s one of our safe bets you know :) Yes Ahsan explained the brain teaser of the last episode. Someone put up his mobile no on facebook. It’s as if the director or producer heard us.
Gulabi takes the letter to post office and entices the clerk over there to write his address as return address. And I was stupid enough to assume that return addresses are required only in case of courier mail and registered mail sent through Pakistan Post. Apparently, it also looks like that no courier company’s office exists in Bahawalpur. Let’s see what do they come up for this one (no harm in being optimistic you know).
Ahsan gets the letter as he’s back from his shooting, is drunk and tired and has to catch flight to Lahore so he tosses it aside. This was one of the two scenes in this episode where Ahsan wasn’t answering phones! Anyways Darakhshande calls him again and manages to find her tongue this time telling him how she likes his dramas, his voice, his dressing etc which bores Ahsan and he hangs the phone. Meanwhile, Darakhsande is facing problems with Chemistry and somehow his brother Haroon finds a male tutor for him. ‘Majbooree hai’ he explains for us simpletons! The teacher is one of the two regular ‘extra’ guys of Bulbulay. He’s told to shave off his french beard, not to have gelled hair (he wasn’t having gelled hair when he was told this, make up man was probably sleeping somewhere or wasn’t paid well!), not to carry his cell phone inside the haveli and to wear shalwar qameez. The entire team of servants of the haveli would be present while he teaches Darakhshande.
This one would be an interesting affair and I am guessing that he would be Darakshande window to the world. What she couldn’t get done through her friends or Gulabi, this guy might do or he might fall for her invoking the wrath of Haroon.
In this episode we also learnt that Gulabi loves Haroon but Haroon couldn’t even dream of marrying a maid, so he got her married to a man who would continue to offer her to him for money. Gulabi hates her husband and loves and misses Haroon despite knowing it’s love from her side and lust from his. I understand that this track has been incorporated to show the hypocrite that Haroon is, his sister is not to set eyes on any man while he can have illicit relationships with married women that too inside the haveli, I wonder why doesn’t his bearded father stops him. However, there were better ways to show his hypocrisy than this track where Shadday keeps on suspecting Gulabi yet offers him to Haroon. He caught his wife and Haroon together in the end of this episode when Gulabi was expressing her feelings for Haroon.
Good episode in terms of movement of story but some more brain teasers. Ahsan Murad doesn’t answer the calls of Darakhsande’s friends but he answers each call of our ‘damsel in distress’ without fail. I am also yet to see a ‘star’ who attends calls from unknown numbers. Normally these people don’t but maybe there’s a magic wand at work over here or some good old fairy god mother. And lastly who drinks tea in a bar (yes Haroon asked Gulabi to bring him tea while he’s in the bar).
Let’s see what do we get on these ones.
