Okay I’ll be honest, when I finished watching the 1st 4 episodes of Roshan Sitara, I decided not to watch the play ever again. I was really not in the mood of watching depressing dramas with a ‘mazloom’ girl (It’s usually Sanam Baloch). But when I found out that the ‘2nd generation’ story has started, I decided to give it a shot. Therefore, I only have a vague idea of what happened during the past 6 or 7 weeks. I will try to review as little as possible about the past. It will be mostly predictions but I don’t think there is a lot I don’t know.
My predictions about the past,Roshan father got sick and that was probably the reason Roshan’s mother took advantage of the situation and forced Roshan to marry Hakim Ali(because of money?) instead of Mansoor, who she was engaged to and loved for very long. After marrying Hakim Ali, Roshan came with him to some haveli and was treated badly especially by her sotan. Mansoor got sick and circumstances made Momin’s mother move somewhere with Mansoor and leave Momin or vice versa.
What happened in episode 11 (past):
– Mansoor dies because of his disease? (can someone tell me what happened to him? What disease did he have?)
-Roshan dies after being sort of beat up by Hakim Ali and giving birth to ‘Sitara’
– Roshan’s father, Momin’s mother and people who took care of Momin died ( according to Momin’s story)
Question is, what happened to Hakim Ali and his wife? They didn’t show them after the time gap. Sitara isn’t with them so I’m guessing the 2 died as well.
In short, a lot of people died!
The 2nd half of the story showed so far that Momin(Moammar Rana) is now a grown-up young man, a completely different Momin compared to how he was in the past. He used to be a very cute little shararati child who admired Roshan Apa a lot(he still does). Now, he is a quiet and sad person. Well, I don’t blame him. He went through a lot. Well anyway, he lives in America and decides to go to Pakistan for some reason. When he gets there, his feet just take him to Roshan’s house. Ok, I have always been a fan of Roshan and Momin’s relationship. It’s just so cute! And so, I absolutely LOVED the fact that he went there even though he knew he won’t find Roshan or his ‘Taya jaan’ there. For me, it was another ‘Awwwwww’ moment! Even though Momin is all grown-up, he is still so cute!
Okay, I really like Moammar Rana. He was the first hero from when I started watching Pakistani dramas (i.e Mere Pass Pass, Shariq~! <3) so he is special for me, but I felt that he was a little unfit for Momin’s role. But he is still doing a good job so I can let that go ;)
After knocking the door, Momin decides to head back but when he sees Sitara, who looks exactly like Roshan, he is shocked. I loved his reaction there. He was confused alright. When I think about Momin admiring Roshan so much and Roshan’s daughter looking just like Roshan, I think the outcome is obvious! But I could be wrong ;) Let’s see how the story goes.
By the way, I don’t understand why Sitara had different clothes when she opened the door for Momin and different the next scene. Why did she change? And so fast?
Roshan’s mother has changed a whole lot! She is a lot nicer now. I was really hoping she was being nice to Momin genuinely, but when I saw she was promoting Iffat a lot, I was like ‘ Ok I get why you’re being so nice now’. Qayuum has also changed. It seems both of them are half-good now. I hope there is no greed still in their hearts. It seems Qayuum’s wife is up to no good.
I like how there are still ties to the past even though the generation is new. Momin’s memories, episode 12 was mainly Momin reminiscencing over the past and also Sitara’s dreams, it seems she has this connection to her mother. Well why not, their faces are the same ;) I also loved how Momin said that the food tasted like how Roshan Apa used to make it, looking at Sitara. It was another ‘Awww’ going moment! I loved the fact that he still remembers the taste of Roshan’s cooking.
Overall, the episodes are good now. The story is much better compared to when I left it. There isn’t much rona dhona. I think the main reason I watched the drama before too was Momin. Now I have a bit more to look forward to. I am looking forward to how the story moves. Gotta say, the cast is doing a really good job. I absolutely love the OST. I am just afraid of one thing, I don’t want more greed and fassaad issues in the story. And I think there will be those. Let’s hope the issue is short. I hate these kinds of issues the most.
Written By Ghada Qaiser~ I will most probably continue with the reviews for Roshan Sitara. Please do comment because your responses keep me going ;) :)
