Let me summarize episode 15 for you: Furhan (Zorain Nizamani) and Noor (Neelam Muneer) become friends, and we find out that nobody knows when Ayesha’s (Sawera Nadeem) birthday is.
And that’s all that happens.
This drama is so slow! Just get to the point already! What did Ayesha do? Can we please find out and move the darn story along?
Before I start ranting, let’s analyze this episode. Noor falls for Furhan’s fail-safe charm and the two become friends. Furhan repeatedly tries to make Noor confess what it is about Moiz (Faisal Qureshi) that makes her hate him so much, but Noor doesn’t budge. He keeps trying to make her just get over it and make nice with Moiz, but her reply to as to why her attitude will never change, “Because I have good reasons,” leaves Furhan stumped. And it’s true; she has very good reasons to hate Moiz.
Back in Pakistan, Amma (Saba Hameed) is not coping to losing Ayesha very well. Nobody to work for her, nobody for her to yell at; she’s lost everything. Her daughter-in-law Farah isn’t helping things at all with her bratty attitude, and poor old Amma is left lonely and depressed. But it serves her right after what she did to Ayesha. And now, after the damage has been done, she sits alone in the big house she made her son work day and night for, remembering all those time she was rude to Ayesha.
There’s really nothing else that happens, except for a few pointless details. Anila (Sunita Marshall) is hinting to Moiz that she likes him, but he’s either oblivious or is acting so, because he still cares about Ayesha and the rest of his family.
Nothing’s happening in present-day either. Furhan asks Noor when Ayesha’s birthday is, and she says she doesn’t know. He asks Ayesha, and she says she doesn’t remember since it’s been so long since she’s celebrated it. He asks Moiz at the dinner table and Moiz, right off the bat, replies “15th July.” Everyone turns and stares at him. Though this didn’t really help the plot much, I liked that it was added in. No one cares enough to remember Ayesha’s birthday except for Moiz, the person who should care the less.
As I’ve said, I’m disappointed. Umera Ahmed’s script is too slow, and Baber Javed’s directing isn’t really anything special so far. In the hopes that next episode will have some substance,
