Pani Jaisa Pyar Episode 16

Paani Jaisa Pyar, my favorite drama, is finally hinting that Sana’s misery is going to come to an end, which I’m very happy about. The acting and directing were fantastic as usual, and the episode was really good overall.

Let me do a quick recap: Sasha (Juggan Kazim) and Adarsh (Mikaal Zulfiqar) had another fight over Sana (Saba Qamar), but they’re back together now because they’re just stupid and can’t seem to stick a decision, and Sana has gone back to Faisalabad with Dua (Nausheen Shah).

Sana’s new attitude is what’s making me love this drama more. Sure, she’s still depressed and doesn’t really see happiness the way that she used to, but she can’t help that. Life has given her too much sorrow for her to ever be normal again. However, the fact that she no longer cares for Adarsh, and is adamant that she will never forgive him for what he’s done to her is what really helps her characterization as a girl who isn’t weak. As she said herself last episode, Adarsh has ruined her life just as much as Saad (Ahsan Khan) has. It’s out of the question for her to forgive the latter, so why should she ever forgive Adarsh?

Adarsh and Sasha…I just don’t know what to say about them. They’re just…downright selfish. They’re so crazy in love that they can’t realize that their actions are ruining the lives of the people who care about them, particularly their parents. Do they really think that they’ll be able to lives normal happy lives despite the fact that they’ve caused their parents so much pain? Adarsh is just a horrible son who has no care about his father (Firdous Jamal) and definitely not his mother (Samina Peerzada).

But Sasha however, has no excuse. Yes, her mother (Sumbul) has agreed to her and Adarsh’s wedding. But Sasha isn’t so clueless that she doesn’t realize what her mother is truly feeling. She doesn’t want Sasha to marry Adarsh! And yet Sasha turns a blind eye to this and does it anyway. Her mother was literally crying last episode when she asked Sasha not to go through with it, and yet Sasha doesn’t even bother to contemplate listening to her mother’s worries. Normally, I would say that if I was in Sasha’s mother’s place then I would give Sasha a slap for her badtameezi and make her listen to me. However, she can’t do that, because Sasha has already left the house for Adarsh’s sake once, and she can do it again if she so pleases. Sasha’s mother is literally helpless in the face of her daughter.

Among the obvious message in this drama, Sasha and Adarsh also have their own moral revolving around them. Kids these days just don’t listen to their parents. I’ve seen this in drama after drama, but it’s highlighted particularly in this one. 50 years ago, nobody could even imagine children talking to their parents the way they do now, and yet it is still happening.

Sana has her baby, and despite Arfa’s pleading for her to come to Faisalabad with him, Sana won’t budge. And she shouldn’t either. She’s received nothing but sorrow from that house, and she has every right to refuse. We also find out that the baby is in fact Adarsh’s, and while Arfa and Dua are overjoyed, Sana doesn’t really care. She’s already said that this baby is hers; it doesn’t matter who his father is, she’s his mother and that’s all that matters.

Dua finally starts calling Arfa “ammi,” and it seems that their relationship is finally blossoming.

And finally, Sasha and Adarsh get married. It’s official: they’ve both signed the nikah-nama. There’s no more on-again off-again. They’re married and that’s it. I’m sure everyone has already realized that I’m infuriated by this, so I won’t start ranting about it.

Arfa comes to Sasha’s house to tell everyone about her grandson’s birth, and she finds an entirely different scene waiting for her. The episode ends right as she spots Sasha and Adarsh in their wedding garb, and I’m left disappointed. I was really hoping I would get to see Adarsh getting slapped before the episode ended!
