Best actor/actress in a parental role (they have written “Paramental” LOL!)

4) Samia Mumtaz (Maaye Ni)
5) Bushra Ansari (Mera Naseeb)
DB: If there wasn’t so much rona dhona in Maaye Ni, I would definitely give the award to Samia Mumtaz. But as things stand, the most strongest parental role was done by Samina Peerzada in Mera Naseeb.
Best Actress in a Supporting Role
1) Neelam Munir (Qaid-e-Tanhai)
2) Sana Askari (Pul Sirat)
3) Sanam Baloch (Kuch Pyar Ka Pagalpan)
4) Aamina Shaikh (Main Abdul Qadir Hoon)
5) Juggan Kazim (Pani Jaisa Pyar)
DB: This is a difficult one. I would go for Neelam Munir as she definitely stood out in Qaid-e-Tanhai amidst the villains and the victims.
Best Actor in a Supporting Role
1) Adeel Hussain (Mera Naseeb)
2) Asif Raza Mir (Roag)
3) Imran Aslam (Mera Naseeb)
4) Faisal Qureshi (Main Abdul Qadir Hoon)
5) Noor Hasan (Humsafar)
DB: Adeel Hussain, without doubt.
Best Fresh Face (Female)
1) Naveen Waqar
2) Syra Yousuf
3) Sajal Ali
4) Alishba Yousuf
5) Sanam Saeed
6) Mahira Khan
DB: Wow. Now this is really, really tough. All of these ladies have certainly put in their best effort (where is Sana Askari? She should be in this category also as her acting is definitely much better than Mahira’s, Sajal’s and Syra’s). Anyway, for her very challenging roles in Ek Nazar Meri Taraf and Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, I would go for Alishba.
Best Fresh Face (Male)

2) Minhaj Askari

DB: I would go for Adeel Hussain again! Who are the first three? Have they appeared in any drama serial yet?
Best Soap
1) Dareecha
2) Meri Subha Ka Sitara
3) Tootay Huay Par
4) Khushboo Ka Ghar
DB: Dareecha has been a nice cause-oriented soap, but I would go for Khushboo Ka Ghar because of the excellent story, characterization, and of course, acting by the new and veteran cast alike.
Best Actress in a Comedy Role
1) Hina Dilpazer (Bulbulay)
2) Aimen Tariq (Kis Din Mera Viwah)
3) Humaira Ali (Akbari Asghari) – Phuppo Batoolan if anyone is wondering
4) Bushra Ansari – Takay Ki Aye Gi Barat
DB: Phuppo Batoolan ALL THE WAY!
Best Actor in a Comedy Role
1) Mehmood (Bulbulay)
2) Faisal Qureshi (Kis Din Mera Viyah)
3) Fawad Khan (Akbari Asghari)
4) Aijaz Aslam (Kis Din Mera Viyah)
DB: Here I will go for Fawad Khan definitely.
Best Comedy Serial
1) Bulbulay
2) Kis Din Mera Viyah Howay Ga?
3) Akbari Asghari
4) Takay Ki Aye Gi Barat
DB: Akbari Asghari seems to be the only logical choice. I cannot stand any others.
Overall review
First of all, I have honestly stated my opinion only. You are free to disagree and vote for your favourite drama serials / actors / actresses.
The categories were very comprehensive and I was glad to see separate nominations for comedy serials and new talent. We definitely need the latter category to encourage new-comers.
On the flip side, I find emphasis upon ARY and HUM serials. Also, I do wish there was a category for best production house.
I am looking forward to reading and reviewing the winners too. But for now, if you have not voted, please do. We cannot complain about the winners if we never took out time to vote.
