How often do we get to see something so pure, so magical, that it cuts right through the noise of politics? Kaise Keh Dein is just that. An Indian song shot across the stunning landscapes of Pakistan, it’s a masterpiece born out of collaboration between young artists who refused to let borders define their creativity.

So, who are Khwaab and Divyam Sodhi?

Khwaab is a music project that blends soulful vocals with evocative lyrics, while Divyam Sodhi is a singer-songwriter whose music tells deeply personal  stories. With Kaise Keh Dein, they’ve taken their artistry to a new level, bridging two nations through a song that speaks to the heart.

The song is set in the 1950s, against the backdrop of partition. It tells the story of a couple separated by borders—one in Lahore, the other in Amritsar—who rely on letters to stay connected. The vintage vibe of the music video, paired with the poignant lyrics, makes the song feel like a time capsule of emotion. He writes in Hindi. She replies in Urdu. The letters carry whispers of love across the divide, but how many such love stories did we lose to borders?

A Cross-Border Collaboration to Remember

With icy relations and political barriers making such partnerships rare, Kaise Keh Dein is nothing short of amazing. The video’s vintage aesthetic, paired with Pakistan’s stunning landscapes tell a bittersweet story of love that endures. Kaise Keh Dein came to life thanks to a talented team from India and Pakistan, including  Abbas Razavi (Flipside Production) and Pakistani classical dancer Fatima Amjed.

Lyrics That Speak Volumes

The beauty of Kaise Keh Dein lies in its haunting lyrics which are rich with longing and metaphor:

Kaise keh dein ke vo hamara hai
(How do I say they are mine?)
Beh rahi hai nadi na jaane kyun
(The river flows, but why?)
Usko saagar ne kab pukara hai
(When did the ocean ever call to it?)

Saath tere hun main hamesha hi
(I am with you forever)
Mujhko par kab tera sahara hai
(But were you ever my support?)

Music has a power
