Ok, I decided to give Nadamat a try for two major reasons:
1) I wanted to see Sanam Baloch in a more serious role.
2) I had watched a soap by Fars Entertainment (“Wafa Kaisee Kahan Ka Ishq”) and enjoyed it – of course, it had dragged quite a bit but it did end in 100 episodes.
So I got around to the first episode and the drama has started on an encouraging note: flashbacks. I love the dramas which start this way because it ensures suspense and keeps interest intact.
Anyway, the drama started with a jail inmate Sohail (Sajid Hasan) who is visited by his friend Nasir (Shahood Alvi). Nasir tells Sohail he cannot find his wife, Dr. Tania (Sanam Baloch) anywhere. She seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. He also breaks the bad news that his sister (played by Shamim Hilali) has passed away. In flashbacks now, we are about to find out how Sohail gets married to Tania and why he is now in jail.
The other track of the story concerns Nasir, his wife and his younger brother, who has yet to make an entry.
Overall, a slow but interesting first episode. I am intrigued to find out how it will develop over the weeks.
