This Monday I am with a heavy heart as Eid holidays are over and have to get back to office from tomorrow L This week I had also completely forgotten to watch second episode of this serial. I was also busy so had it not been for Fahad, I wouldn’t have watched it online and reviewed it tonight. Thanks Fahad. I owe it to you. I am also sorry about a mistake that I committed in my earlier review. The name of Bano’s Apa’s daughter is Khazeena and not Feezat as I had mentioned. I, forever, remain confused with names. Not that others are any better. Just today, my brother’s saas was addressing me by my brother’s name. So chalta hai!
What happened in today’s episode. Mehru and her kids saw Maya’s home and lifestyle and were pretty much impressed with it. Even Mehru’s neighbor was impressed with Maya’s personality besides Mehru’s kids. This made her want to do a job which Meerab strongly opposed. Faiq came to Mehru and made her give him money in the name of treatment for some injured friend of his leading to further financial constraints for Mehru and tussles between Mehru and Meerab. It not only showed how blind Meerab is to her elder sister’s entire family but also how stupid he is that he is willing to dole out his limited money for someone’s welfare that he hardly even knew. The situation reached to such a point where Mehru on Maya’s encouragement decided to do a job in Maya’s company even with Meerab disapproving of it.
We also got to know what kind of a male chauvinist this guy Meerab is. He thinks women are made for the home only and should not venture out nomatter what the circumstances are. He is so indifferent to the needs and wishes of his wife and kids and so caring towards his sister Bano Apa, her nikamma husband (sorry guys no word in English to appropriately explain this word) and her good for nothing kids who make different excuses and waste their maternal uncle’s money
It was good to see Mehru take a stand for her children and her future. Btw Meerab discussed this with Bano Apa whose ‘raal tapkofied’ (another apology) on potential access to even more money.
In this episode it was amazing to see that Bano Apa’s family (minus her son Faiq) came to visit Meerab and Mehru. They behaved like it was their home and Mehru was some servant of theirs, watching TV, ordering dishes as if it was a hotel, asking for tea and even ordering to pack the left over food to take home.
And looks like even the director has a hang over of Maat. When Mehru’s neighbouring was looking after the kids in the absence of Mehru and Meerab, she was watching Maat on TV. Makes the two of us director g :)
Next week’s episode looks more interesting with the equation between Mehru and Maya changing as Mehru’s now Maya’s employee and not just her friend. Javed Sheikh also makes an entry as Maya’s husband in the coming episode so plenty of action there.
