The vultures have landed. That didn’t take any time at all. I’m not even sure the body reached the grave before the circling siblings and spouses swiftly dove in for their pound of flesh or is it pound of fish?
We had sadly shed a tear for Nabeel’s demise and Mikaal’s disappearance last week so it was nice to have him reappear in appropriate flashbacks which thankfully didn’t feel forced. The best part of today was that Romaisa kept her mouth shut and let her tears do the talking. Have to hand it to Sanam Jung (along with a box of tissues) that girl can cry and look exceptionally pretty while doing so.
The rest of the family save Zeeshan was devoid of any emotion – I mean he still was their son and sibling -bearer of fancy gifts and purse strings. Sadness? Some facial movements? A tic? Something? Not here my dear, they were too busy scavenging the remains of the jayadat and zeroing in on poor wounded Romaisa.
After shedding a few crocodile tears, this wake of vultures lead by Mommy dearest was hell bent on throwing her out penniless and fishless too. Even though she has lost her son, I rarely saw a flicker of emotion let alone humanity for her bahu. But then again all saas’s and rich ones at that need to be painted in stereotypical zalim shades. And Khala less than amused at Romaisa being thrown back in her court, is threatening thunder and lightening (so very very frightening…) and lawyers to rightfully claim Romaisa’s (rather her) piece of the pie.
Romaisa is back to a life of drudgery at Khala’s house and wondering if life with Nabeel was an interlude in her nightmare from which she has been cast into again. No one to turn to and no one who isn’t waiting to extract something from her – her cash, jewelry, home, jayadaat.
Surprisingly though I didn’t feel as much for Romaisa, as I did for Zeeshan. Of course perhaps my vision is clouded by eye candy fluff, and the excitement of seeing more of Adeel Husain. Can we petition for more scenes of him in uniform? Pretty please? And white shirts and of him driving in his car in a white shirt? Anyone else found if funny that Adeel’s hamdardi dialogue was swiftly stolen by Rabia? Poor dear she has no idea how much that is going to cost her.
Although fear not, this looks like it’s a job for Sham… sorry… Zeeshan who threatens to bring her back himself if his parents don’t. Adeel Husain seems have been handed the responsibility of taking care of all the women in drama land. You don’t see them (or me) complaining (yet).
