Mol-Episode 4 Review

Mere ghar mein tumhaari Emaan ke liye koi jagey nahin hein… Mujhe iss se koi garz nahin ke yeh dillagi hai ya dil ki lagi hai… Shereyaar managed to convince his parents to agree to his wedding. But that’s as far as they agreed to being a party of the shaadi shenanigans. Imtiyaaz Sahab was perplexed over the proposal and the absence of the lady of the house and rightly so. I really liked the way his character has been etched out. I really wish his wife’s character would have similar shades of genuine concern. I don’t know if that’s the writing or the actor playing the part but her desire to see this wedding take place despite so many questionable events was odd.

The wedding was a low key affair- Emaan made a gorgeous bride and I loved how she portrayed her nervousness and fear of the unknown. I chuckled when she expressed how she’s afraid of Hajra Aunty. After all, Hajra Aunty looked like she would bite her head off. It’s mighty sad to see how parents allow their egos to blind them. If they agreed to the wedding, they should at the very least get to know Emaan buefore seeing the worst in her. Being a woman, I expected an ounce of empathy from Hajra but unfortunately there was none.

Shehreyaar had anticipated this response from his parents which is why he had asked to meet with Emaan in the previous episode. I would really like to see how Shehreyaar manages his life now with such negativity from his parents. It would be interesting to see how Emaan and Shereyaar deal with their marriage while trying to maintain harmony.

Hajra played her part to uphold the traditions of Shehreyaar’s mangni with Sajjal but Muraad was onto them. He grew suspicious of his brother’s last minute no-show and will not take this news well. I think that even though his elder brother thought he was sparing him the trauma, Muraad would’ve rather they called off the sham engagement instead of having to face the humiliation that awaits him. I understand that such instances are disturbing but I truly think parents have a pivotal role in tackling such awkward situations head on instead of multiplying the impact by their choice of words. Sajjal is a pretty, young girl who should have no trouble finding an age- appropriate suitor but the fact that her parents have been unable to see beyond their middle-aged bhateeja is truly sad. Seeing her parents create a scene will not help Sajjal in any way. If anything, it’ll destroy her self esteem further.

The preview of the next episode hinted at the inevitable showdown between the two brothers and some awkwardness between the newly weds. Let’s see what we’re in for…
