There’s no excuse for our excuses. Circumstances don’t make us what we are; they reveal who we are… this often used quote seems rather fitting in the context of Mol and the way Emaan’s character has shaped up. In the midst of all her arguments and demand for divorce, I couldn’t help but think- is she forgetting that she’s the one who can’t conceive? There’s nothing wrong with Shereyaar. Why is she trying to punish her husband who’s done nothing expect support her through her ordeal. As they say, an idle mind is a devil’s workshop and all this free time has truly gotten to Emaan. I find it amusing that Emaan sees children as the foundation for a complete relationship instead of the husband/wife bond which is essential to the very dynamic of a happy home. I can’t for the life of me understand her twisted logic of trying to do a one-up in this situation. Emaan has turned into an extremely selfish and bitter woman who has absolutely no respect for her husband or parents. Her obsession with Shahnaam is indicative of not just a troubled mind but an unhealthy one. I think anyone else in Rohail’s situation would want to keep his child away from a neighbour who is trying to make Shahnaam dependent on her to gratify her own ehsaas-e-kamtari.
I never thought it would come to this but Emaan has no self-respect whatsoever. She’s shamelessly taunting her husband and demanding her freedom. I find it very disturbing that our dramas don’t shy away from making a mockery of marriage and divorce for the sake of spicing things up. This is a very sickening representation of our society and religion because though a woman has the right to divorce, it’s not something that you discuss over dinner. Divorce is allowed but there are conditions that dictate it- is Emaan a role model for young, impressionable girls? Okay, for the sake of argument, if Emaan were to get divorced on the grounds that she feels incomplete because her terrible husband socializes and because he’s not stalking some random neighbours child to fill a void, what guarantee does she have that Rohail will allow her free access to his son?
If Rohail has an iota of common sense, he will put his foot down and not mince his words. Someone with deep-rooted psychological issues like Emaan is a huge red flag. He should ensure his son’s safety- this woman is very capable of kidnapping his son! I personally have zero tolerance for violence but I so wanted Emaan’s mother to knock some sense into her even if that required slapping her across the face. I find nothing noteworthy with regards to Humayoun’s indecent proposal or Zareena and Hajra’s discussions. I have no desire to know what becomes of Sajjal because we’ve never been given a glimpse into her character except her fixation with her akroo ex mangaitar… That said, I can still relate to Sajjal’s Disney fetish of wanting to be with her Prince. But what kinda woman obsesses over a child and tries to justify her right to choose?
