Agar mohabbat phir nahin hosakti toh insaan marney walon ke saath hi marjaatey... Bibi’s wise words rekindle a ray of hope in Aiman- she is sure of her feelings for Haider and seems confident that he feels the same way but Sajeela’s constant reminders of their pehli mohabbat gives rise to insecurities. All’s fair in love and war and in Sajeela’s case, she’s now in love with Haider (read fixated) and she’s at loggerheads with her kam-umar nemesis, Aiman. Sajeela has started stalking Haider taking full advantage of his sharafat. Haider considers her qabil-e-ehteraam but Bibi doesn’t fall for Sajeela’s I’ve-turned-over-a-new-leaf act. Sajeela has made her intentions crystal clear- ab mein ussey paaney ayi houn, khoney nahin… Sajeela has managed to manipulate Almas and convince her that she desrves another shot at happiness- apne hi ghar mein, apni hi soteli beti ko mere agay lakey khara kardiya… Playing the dutiful role of Api, Almas tactfully approaches Haider with the reality that the relationship he shares with Aiman is that not that of friendship but rather of an uncle and a niece given his association with Taufeeq- Chacha ko bhateeji ke liye rishta toh dhoondna chahiye… Haider immediately mentions Shaheer and suggests him as a suitable match for Aiman. I did sense Almas felt a surge of guilt and embarrassment after that conversation but she still seems to think she’s on the right track.
Finally, this episode was the one I’ve been looking forward to- Aiman and Taufeeq have an actual father-daughter conversation. I loved the way Taufeeq gifted her a brand new car and reminded her to arrive at the office with confidence. He sees her as an extension of himself and is proud of her achievements. Mein chahta houn ke meri beti, balakey mere dono bachey- tum aur Saahir kamyaab insaan bano. Mere baad mera phehla hua business tum dono ko hi samhaalna hai… I loved the way that scene was executed- tears welled up in Aiman’s eyes and Taufeeq’s expression softened when he heard her call him “Papa”. Haider finally disclosed the reality of Taufeeq and Zainab’s life- Zainab was the one who divorced Taufeeq and kept him away from Aiman. He never loved Zainab- it was a zabardasti ki shaadi forced upon him by his mother and he simply couldn’t make it work. However, he tried for a period of 5 years to support his daughter and provide for her in every way but Zainab refused. The realization that her mother had lied all along upset Aiman but she was quick to forgive her mother and this time around, her father too. Aiman finally accepted that she loves her father just as much as she loves her mother. Often times it’s the children that bear the brunt of a divorce and Zainab’s personal differences with Taufeeq led her to punish him in the only way she could- by keeping him away from his daughter. What she failed to understand was the repercussions her decisions would have on Aiman and her life- a life she lived in poverty, hating the man who was her father and holding him responsible for her circumstances.
Taufeeq and Haider decided that it would be in Aiman’s best interests if she would join their office and get a real-feel of what it’s like to run a business. His pride was evident while he made introductions to his staff and Aiman finally felt like she belongs here. She attributed her happiness to Haider’s efforts and hinted at their future- mein inn unchaiyoun mein apkey saath jaana chati houn… Another wonderful episode and the preview for next week looks just as interesting.
