This episode was refreshing in more ways than one. Haider finally took Aiman for the makeover we’ve all been waiting for and the transformation from the ugly duckling into a beautiful swan was complete. The makeover seemed to have brought about a change in Aiman’s personality too- she appears far more self-assured now than ever before. We were introduced to a new character, Fatima- Haider’s university colleague who manages their Dubai office. Almas and Bibi seem to think that Fatima is the perfect match for Haider- they seem to be on the same wavelength, have a deep understanding of each other and are family friends. Aiman felt insecure and slightly jealous when she first met Fatima with Haider at a restaurant where she was having lunch with Rameen. Rameen is pretty sure that Aiman has it bad for Haider and Aiman admits- agar mein apni saari zindagi ek lafz mein samaitna chahoun toh woh lafz hai Haider.
Fatima and Haider seem to get along like two peas in a pod but Haider has no intentions of converting their friendship into anything more. Fatima puts forth her proposal but Haider declines. He doesn’t want to risk another marriage and it’s perfectly understandable. Since Aiman has secured first position in her class, Shaheer has started paying special attention to her. Rameen seems to think that Shaheer’s sudden interest in her is probably due to a growing fondness but Aiman feels he only wants to get to know her better to understand how she studies since he’s extremely competitive. Aiman’s world revolves around Haider and whenever he’s away, she feels incomplete. Haider’s trip to Dubai made her slightly upset but the moment he called, she couldn’t resist rushing to meet him.
Two scenes that stood out today were the one where Almas congratulates Aiman on her first position and the one where Haider invites Taufeeq over for lunch at the office so he can showcase Aiman’s perfectionism and work ethics. Taufeeq was surprized to find his daughter isn’t as incompetent as he thought her to be. He has never made any attempts to get to know her better but neither has Aiman shared any of her accomplishments with him. I think they both need to work on their relationship and try to find some middle ground. Aiman is sure that her father hates her- woh meri ammi se nafrat kartey theh aur mujhse bhi nafrat kartey hein. Haider keeps reassuring her otherwise.
Sajeela is planning a comeback- she has finally gotten over her sorrows and discusses her future plans of moving to Pakistan with her friend Sheena. Sajeela seems to think that she can pick up where she left off with Haider- she knows he loved her sincerely and since he never remarried, she assumes he still has feelings for her and would take her back without second thoughts. Aiman has yet to find out that her stepmom’s sister was Haider’s ex-wife. Not that she needs any more reasons, but I’m sure this will only add to her existing grudge against Almas. Aiman sees Almas as the woman who took her mother’s place- but we have yet to discover the full story if there is one.
