So finally, my weekly rants are brought up in this episode and that helped elevate my viewing experience considerably. For a while I was beginning to think it was just me that was struggling with issues but thankfully that’s not the case. Haider’s stating of the obvious- Tum dhankey kapre nahin pehen ke asakti? And Aiman’s college friend Rameen telling her that as a matter-of-fact she should refer to Haider as Haider Bhai since he is not only older but also her father’s business partner (duh!) There is light at the end of the tunnel here- phew!
The colossal prick, Mazhar, tried to plead his innocence once again but Sajeela has had enough of his jhootey vaadey and demands a divorce. Almas only adds to his woes by threatening him with a case of embezzlement and fraud with a potential for deportation. I hope this is the last we have seen of him- his story has nothing more to offer and was given too much footage as it is. Sajeela’s sobs failed to evoke sympathy since she had it coming. Almas tried to soften Taufeeq towards Sajeela but our desi IceMan made his stand very clear. Almas was surprised to find out Haider and Aiman ki bohut puraani dosti hai- although she did try to keep face by immediately mentioning his friendship would probably help Aiman build her confidence. What exactly were Haider’s intentions behind seeking her approval after stating that Taufeeq is aware of their association?
Aiman has started university and is a self- proclaimed back-bencher. Haider is confident that she will graduate with a gold medal but Aiman lets on how even her mother never had confidence in her abilities to achieve anything extraordinary. Not just that, Zainab also forgot her only daughter’s birthday on many occasions- reminding us yet again why Aiman suffers from low self-esteem. Haider went out of his way to make her feel special on her birthday- a day she never really celebrated before. She was fascinated with her birthday presents- pennn ka set and perfumme. Aiman is finally comfortable with Haider and turns to him for every little problem- and I mean that literally! She shares how she feels inferior whenever she sees aaj kal ki larkiyan kitni confident aur stylish hain… Haider has been grooming her in many ways, trying to get her to accept Taufeeq as her Papa, surely he can take her to a stylist.
Aiman was curious to know more about Haider’s personal life- this girl is clearly smitten and it seems Haider isn’t far behind. He’s now referring to her as Emma- a girl from a movie he watched. But things won’t remain hunky-dory forever; there’s trouble brewing ahead. Will Aiman’s fall bring their downfall? Will Sajeela try to patch things up with Haider now that she’s single again? Will Taufeeq ever learn to emote? Questions, questions! What do you think?
