So, while Hurricane Sandy was doing her thing outside, I was hoping that my power would stay on, aur light na chali jai, but I guess things aren’t exactly ever supposed to work out for me how I want them to, and my electricity went out. I was freaking out because I had just started to watch the last episode of MDKJZM and that is when everything started to screw up. I still had to put up a review for you all to read, and I didn’t get to because I had no power.
So why am I telling you this? I feel like MDKJZM’s bad luck has rubbed off on me, :D. See, ever since Amna got married to Urooj, every episode has gone downhill, tragedy after tragedy. I guess the last episode was pretty unfortunate as well because the electricity went out literally AS SOON as I started the episode. You guys be the judge.
Anyhow, my thoughts on the last episode are mixed. And that’s not exactly a good thing, nor is it a bad thing either. See, I’m glad, SERIOUSLY GLAD, that Amna didn’t get married to Azam/Salaar/weirdcreepyguy and that Arifa had saved her life. However, I’m not exactly cool with the part where Amna just visits Zakiyah chachi every now and then, and it has to get really awkward for Amna and Urooj because in my hopeful little mind, they still have feelings for each other. They’re both hurt, lonely, and they both miss each other too and I would have liked to see them get back together towards the end so that there would be a full closure for them two. But I guess not :(.
Arifa was AMAZING. This girl went through so much, and right when she was starting to live again, she meets her bad past in the face. Literally. And instead of letting Azam/Salaar/weirdcreepyguy get to her again and bring her down, she slapped him and beat him up. It was wonderful because that was exactly what he deserved. I mean, how are you gonna mess up a girl’s life and then go after her sister? Shame on you. Wonderfully done Arifa!!
I was reading Fatima’s review on the last episode, and it turns out, that I was thinking the same thing she was talking about when it came to how insensitively Urooj’s disability was handled. I’m not going to elaborate more because her review speakes my thoughts so accurately, so here’s the link to her review: http://www.dramasonline.com/review-mere-dard-ko-jo-zuban-miley-last-episode/. Enjoy! :)
Why did I continue watching this show until the last episode? I have to say, it was mostly because of the performances of the actors, the OST was perfect, and I really wanted to see how they would go ahead with developing Urooj and Amna’s relationship. That’s partially why I really didn’t like how they got divorced because to me, they were the best part of the show. But guess not….Anyhow, the actors were wonderful, especially Shehrayar Munawar! Without any words, he conveyed his emotions through his facial expressions and hand gestures perfectly! Also, the other cast members were fantastic as well: Sarwat Gillani, Alishba Yousuf, Bushra Ansari, Mohib Mirza, etc….Great job guys! Personally, though, I think Bushra Ansari should act instead of write, because acting just suits her better….and I’m not a person that likes tragedies to be honest
That’s basically all I have to say….Let me know what you thought of the last episode!
