This was another amazing episode of Mera Yakeen, in fact this drama is turning out to be one of my favorite serials nowadays. I am completely in love with the brilliant performances and the way the story flows, Mera Yakeen has to be Sarmad Khoosat at his best. Seema Munaf has given us characters that are easy to relate to and all the actors fit in perfectly in their respective roles.
Maha finally decided that it was time for khala to go….well good for her, it is nice to see a woman taking a stand for a change without being worried about what the relatives or the husband will feel about it. It was the right decision and I am glad Maha did what she wanted to despite of Asfand telling her that it would be highly inappropriate. Also, it was good to see Maha telling khala and Tabinda the exact reason for them being “kicked out of the house” rather than making false stories. The nurse tells Maha about her medical condition and Maha’s reaction couldn’t have been more aptly portrayed. Asfand assures Maha of his love and sincerity again repeatedly but it is not that easy to convince Maha for obvious reasons. Asfand was right in asking Maha that would she be searching for other options if Asfand was bed-ridden but the fact is that in our society the wives are expected to look after the husband and most of all be there for him till death even if he is bed-ridden. When it comes to husbands the standards are shockingly different. Everyone would feel sorry for a husband who is tied down with a wife who is paralyzed and the society would expect him to remarry. Asfand’s decision to fire the nurse because of her unprofessional attitude was the right thing to do, until now Asfand has been the perfect husband in all ways possible.
Maha thinks Nazish’s life is perfect but it is nowhere near that, but Nazish was doing a great job of making the most of her troubled life until Shehnaz lost it when her mother gave the family “gangans” to Nazish…so it is not just about power but also about money and materialistic things. Faiz has really disappointed me, he should have snatched the knife from his sister rather than divorcing Nazish. Nazish is expecting and she did not even get a chance to tell her husband. This last scene was brilliantly done and the episode as a whole was extremely well directed. I wonder if the divorce is final since Nazish is expecting and Faiz only said it once.
Mera Yakeen to me is a complete package; a story that keeps you hooked, performances that leave you spell bound and brilliant direction. Hats off to the entire team for a job well done. I have very high expectations from this play and am definitely looking forward to the next episode.
