Mera Yakeen has been very well directed till now, hats off to Sarmad Khoosat not only for a job well-done as far as the direction is concerned but I totally love him as Faiz. I have never liked Sarmad Khoosat more in any other character. The casting is brilliant and all of the actors fit in perfectly in their respective roles. The story is moving gradually but every episode gives details into Maha and Nazish’s life that are needed to develop the characters in a way that the viewers can relate to them. Maha’s state of mind; the depression, crying, shouting in anger or frustration and yearning for how things were is the perfect portrayal of a woman who is finding is extremely hard to cope with everything that has happened to her. Savera Nadeem does complete justice to her character, yet again and I completely forget about Zubeida when I see Maha on-screen, that is a HUGE achievement. Faisal Qureshi is equally comfortable in his character and does a brilliant job of adding a reality touch to his character, his fans of course expect nothing less from him. Nimra Bucha’s character is superbly etched out and she does a magnificent job of bringing it to life on screen.
This latest episode, like I said earlier showed how Maha is finding it hard to deal with her present condition. For me the biggest development in Maha’s life was Asfand shifting his things out of the room, he obviously did that out of respect and love for Maha but Khala’s jubilation and Maha’s dialogue that gradually he will move out of her life did say a lot. For now Asfand continues to be the perfect husband, who is trying to make things as easy for Maha as is possible and reassures her of his love every step of the way. I could not help but wonder that why can’t the nurse sleep in the living room and Maha could keep a bell alongside her bed so she can ring it whenever she needs her, since the sole reason for Asfand sleeping in the other room is the nurse being present in the bedroom. Khala and Tanzeela are upto no good and I have a feeling that whatever they are planning will increase Maha’s insecurities and may strain the relationship between the husband and wife for sometime. Asfand however has proved to be very wise till now so I am hoping that he will be able to deal with the situation. Maha’s repeated refusal to meet Nazish is a little bothersome. She has been friends with Nazish for so long, she should know that Nazish is the last person who will judge her but yes Nazish’s “counseling” can get annoying. Talking of counseling, why can’t Maha get some professional help to deal with the depression and frustrations in a more healthy way? I hope someone will think on those lines, otherwise she is going to go deeper into depression. With her sister gone, she feels more lonesome.
Even with a Sister-in-Law like Shehnaz Nazish manages to make the most of everything and Faiz also gives whatever love he is allowed to give his wife under the circumstances. Faiz could have proven to be a perfect husband…sigh what a loss! Nazish’s relationship with her Mother-in-Law is admirable and I am glad she didn’t prove to be as rigid and controlling as her daughter.
Those of you out there who enjoy a drama with a lot of good performances to its credit should definitely be watching this show. I am thoroughly enjoying the performances and the direction in particular.
