Maha’s fairytale life turns into a nightmare on the night of her tenth wedding anniversary. A very content, full of life Maha could not even dream of what was coming her way, after all she had always been so fortunate with everything how could anything ever go wrong with her life. What happened with Maha in today’s episode sent shivers down my spine, how vulnerable are we all in the hands of fate and how naïve are we to think that we are inviolable.
After Ahmer’s phone call Nazish decides there was no point in holding on to false hope and goes back to her parents, a divorce is delivered to her doorstep soon enough. She ends up getting married to yet another man whose sister sees a helper in Nazish and anyone can tell that this marriage is not meant to last. Unlike Maha, her friend believes very strongly in fate and how it can turn a house into a home in the twinkling of an eye and if it is not meant to be, no amount of effort can change things. That probably is the reason that Nazish is so resigned to her fate and Maha so confident…ignorance is bliss!
The highlight of today’s show had to be the conversations between Maha and Asfand. They were much like the ones they had in the previous episode but I found them quite relevant and they clearly drew attention to Maha’s stone cold approach towards Nazish’s problems. When Asfand asks her to look for a proposal for Nazish, she thinks it is not her responsibility and she has so time for all of that. The way Asfand continuously keeps on telling Maha that she should help Nazish and the way he responds to Maha’s comment about Nazish’s age and just about everything else, went to show that Asfand loves his wife , no doubt , but they come from two different worlds. In my opinion Asfand does not think very highly of the way Maha treats her best friend or the beggar on the road but he does not think that these things matter and does not want to highlight these differences of opinion and attitude. I am sure these disparities will not be that easy to brush aside once things change for them both.
Overall today’s episode was great in terms of acting and screenplay but unlike the previous episode, the dialogues were rather disappointing. I must add that the detailed promos took away half of the magic, knowing exactly what would be coming next is not as exciting as anticipating and guessing what might be coming our way. Nevertheless, eagerly looking forward to the next episode.
