Technically I should be happy for Nazish after watching this latest installment but somehow I can’t help but see her as the “other woman”, although I know only too well that she is Asfand’s wife and deserves his love just as much as Maha does. When I saw both of them going out and enjoying themselves a part of me did feel slightly happy for Nazish but somehow I felt like Asfand was being disloyal to Maha. Even when I write this it all seems very wrong but that is how I felt even though I tried very hard not to feel this way. It seems like I have started to have a serious problem with the storyline. I would have found it so much easier to feel happy for Nazish had she been married to someone else.
Since Maha cannot keep an eye on Asfand she asks her “loyal” servant to report back to headquarters at the end of the day or whenever Asfand talks or goes out with Nazish. Maha has been shown as a very unreasonable, emotional, self centered woman so what is keeping her from asking Asfand to divorce Nazish? She is probably waiting for the two to fall in love with each other so that there is some more drama in the drama! Asfand one fine day fell in love with Nazish and I really did not see that coming. I must say that it could have been done in a much better way; it really does seem like it was sympathy or need that brought him close to her than love.
One of the viewers pointed out that Faisal Qureshi’s way of talking in Mera Yakeen was like that of Nadeem Baig and I must say that I agree completely. Actually I had been wondering for quite sometime now that who talked like that and I am glad the mystery is solved!
All the actors have done an amazing job in this play but for the past four episodes or so I have been finding it difficult to relate to the latest developments or to feel for any of the characters. An interesting sidetrack could have been a good idea, watching Maha on the bed wearing the same outfits over and over again is getting to me…some change of scenery would be good. The reason for the marriage, like I stated earlier was also unconvincing and so is Asfand’s love for Nazish and not to mention Maha not asking Asfand to divorce Nazish.
Mera Yakeen has a stellar cast but the script in particular has failed to impress. It is the same old story of a man who is in love with two women at the same time and the fact that one of them is bed ridden does not help!
