I’m not even sure that I’ll be able to write this review and do justice to this powerful episode. Yes, it was pretty powerful, but at the same extent, I do have mixed emotions. Throughout this drama, I try my best to not compare this sequel with the original, but that’s sort of hard to do, because it’s more of a continuation of the first. I honestly did enjoy the prequel, because it was just more realistic. However, MS2 is exaggerated at points, but true at other degrees. So, it may not be better than the first, but it’s still enjoyable.
Going along with the plot, one action lead to the consequences of many other reactions. Firstly, Shazmeen got a verbal slap by her daughter that sort of put her back into reality that her daughter is far more important than her political career, and that she needs to get her act together. I for one, completely agreed with Erum. And then, the horrible news came – Shahzaman had ruthlessly murdered Faraz and Anum. Since he has no emotions or feelings, he felt no remorse at all. But, politics always finding a way, so they all, and by ‘they’ I mean Naina and her family, find a way to blame their murder on Shazmeen. Not the smartest idea ever, but still, pretty clever. I guess to be a politician, you have to keep yourself safe, even though you might completely destroy someone else’s life. And the episode ended with a whole new conspiracy that was about to be played by both families.
Shahzaman is one troubled character. Whatever he did was totally wrong, heartless, and brutal, but what has to be kept in mind is that he was trained to be that way as he was growing up. And for that, you only have one person to blame – Malik Yawar. Shahzaman might not show emotions, but you can see that he can totally pretend and act them out, as was shown towards the end of the episode. So he’s cold-blooded, but you can’t place the entire blame on him. He’s not normal, he’s simply insane and psychotic. Combine that with some political status, and you’ve got yourself some bad news right there.
In short, a wonderful episode, though the shots did seem a bit more filmy at times. Let’s see what direction the drama is going to go in now. It isn’t looking too good for Shazmeen right now. What side are you guys on – Team Shazmeen or Team Naina? I’m on Team Shazmeen definitely!
