Today’s episode yet again, continued the constant cycle of unpredictableness (if that’s a word, haha). Not exactly a happening episode, but more of a mellow one, if that is even possible in this serial.
The main plot in today’s episode was Shahzaman’s entry into Faraz and Anum’s wanting-to-happen-marriage. Shazmeen was starting to loosen up a bit with the idea, but Anum’s running away made it impossible for that to happen. Anum runs away with Shahzaman so that he will help her meet Faraz at his farmhouse, and there, leads them into believing he is there to help them, not to hurt them. After he takes them there, he lets Shazmeen know that as well, leaving her freaked out. By the end of the episode, we are left to believe that Faraz and Anum’s decision isn’t going to end up so well. Can I just say how creepy Shahzaman’s little “lair” is? But I guess that’s what you’re supposed to do if you’re mentally insane and all….
On the other hand, Iftikhar continues to threaten Shazmeen when it comes to the whole “getting Anum married to his cousin” situation. Similarly, Shahzaman is also blackmailing Inayah for his purposes and trying to manipulate her in that manner, and as much as Inayah tries to keep it quiet, Maria still finds out and confronts her mother.
Finally, I love how each character is actually given some depth into their motives. Shahzaman’s lead purpose, and probably only purpose is to bring Shazmeen down, regardless of the consequences, even if it means harming her daughter. Evidently, he doesn’t have any problem doing that. Inayah also wants to bring Shazmeen down, for Iftikhar left her for Shazmeen. Similarly, every other character is also given some reasons to their motives, which may or may not be for the greater good.
Even if someone might not have watched the first season of this drama, you can actually keep up with it through this season. The part I’m actually waiting for is when Shahzaman starts to show more of Malik Wajahat’s characteristics, him being his son and all.
Overall, not much to write about, but more of a filler episode. Waiting for next week to see how it all pans out.
