I was rewatching some initial episodes of season 1 of Mera Saaein and now, after watching this episode, I miss Naina and Shazmeen’s friendship more than ever. I was so amazed by the intensity of today’s episode. It was most definitely not a disappointing episode! Shazmeen and Naina remain in a constant battle even yet, each repeating the same phrase: You will never win. As the battle rages, Anum and Faraz are still facing the continuous issue of their marriage – is it happening or is it not?
On the other hand, Malik Yawar constantly tries telling Shahzaman how Inayah is simply using him, to which Shahzaman replies, “Only time will tell who uses whom.”. Shahzaman also ends up killing the SP who previously had him badly beat up and takes his revenge. When Inayah finds out about this, she isn’t all too happy and confronts him, which ends up as a disaster. Anum talks to Faraz about running away over the phone, and Shazmeen overhears her conversatio. She then threatens to have Anum wedded in the following week to Iftikhar’s cousin in the village and locks her in her room.
My favorite scene was when we got a glimpse of Wajahat as Shahzaman threatened Inaya and said “Main tumhara Saaein hoon!”. That was splendidly done! I have a feeling we’re going to be seeing more of that in the future.
Also, the cast has done a great job! This drama would have fell completely flat if it weren’t for the above average acting. The intensity and realisticness that each member delivers is wonderful. The cast has to be my favorite part of this serial, and the story following after that.
The world of politics is a dirty game, as is portrayed through this drama wonderfully. Guys, if you’re looking for a drama and trying to get away from the saas-bahu conflicts, pick this drama up. You won’t be disappointed!
P.S. I had decided for this review to be my last, but since readers actually want the reviews, I’ll keep it going :).
