Confession time: When I first watched the opening episodes of Meem Se Mohabbat, I was taken aback—and not in a good way. But after catching up to episode 16 last week, I realized it was time to give these characters another chance. So, here we are with another Meem Se Mohabbat review.

Opposites Attract in this Office Romance

My initial impression of Ayat (Dananeer Mobeen) was that she was too naïve—almost comically so. We first met her as a bubbly girl eager to get married to escape the horrors of a college education. But a lot has changed for Ayat. Yes, she’s still playful, emotional, and a little silly, but she’s also maturing. As an intern, she’s had a few brushes with the real world, though she has yet to face any real consequences for her impulsive behavior. Still, the spontaneous accidents have reduced, and it’s clear she has developed strong feelings for Sir Talha.

Fans are swooning over this office romance, and with Sabeeka back in the picture, it’s easy to see where the plot is heading. The contrast between Ayat and Sabeeka is striking—a wide-eyed college student versus a polished, professional businesswoman. It begs the question: why do we romanticize innocence over expertise, education, and maturity? Sabeeka’s apology to Talha hasn’t won fans over though, the audience is clearly rooting for Ayat and Talha to end up together.

Talha is gradually warming up to Miss Ayat—in his signature broody way. But his past wounds, aka Sabeeka, still haunt him. Now that she’s back and taking an interest in him again, and he’s reciprocating, I can’t help but wonder—why the unnecessary drama?

Nothing has changed! She rejected him before because of his attention toward Mohid, and that still hasn’t changed. So what exactly is different now? And how can he so easily forget that rejection?

Meanwhile, Ayat continues to be a playmate for Talha’s ward Mohid, and his father (Ahad Raza Mir) clearly adores her. As for the side plots, the drama struggles to hold our attention. Despite being an adorable couple, newlyweds Mahi and Umer lack a fleshed-out storyline of their own. And then there’s their nouveau riche neighbor, Naheed, who has become a constant presence in their home, treating Daadi and Dadaa as her elders and always dropping by for advice.

Meem se Mohabbat shines in scenes where Ayat grows and reveals vulnerability.

Why Meem Se Mohabbat Is Worth Watching

At first, I wasn’t convinced. But then I thought, let’s wait and see—because the people behind this drama know their craft. And I’m glad I did. At this point, Meem Se Mohabbat has fully pulled me in, I find myself waiting for Wednesdays and Thursdays to watch what happens next.

Ali Hassan: The Director

Meem Se Mohabbat is directed by Ali Hassan, a filmmaker who has mastered the art of creating stories that resonate with both Gen Z and older audiences.

He’s already proven his skill with Fairytale and Pyari Mona. Pyari Mona’s first episode alone racked up over 2 million views, and the numbers kept climbing. Fairytale had such a massive reception that the creators brought us Fairytale 2.0, proving its popularity among both teenagers and older viewers.

Yet, one of his most underrated works remains Meri Guriya, a drama that showcased exceptional direction, storytelling, and execution. It deserves far more appreciation than it gets.

Farhat Ishtiaq: The Writer

Meem Se Mohabbat is penned by Farhat Ishtiaq, a name synonymous with unforgettable storytelling.

We’re still reeling from the magic of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, but let’s not forget that she also gave us masterpieces like Diyar-e-Dil, Humsafar, Yaqeen Ka Safar, and Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu. Her ability to blend romance, emotion, and depth makes her one of the finest writers in the industry.

Asif Raza Mir: Supporting Lead

I have to take a moment to appreciate Asif Raza Mir. I still remember him as Zain (Pink Panther) from Tanhaiyaan—his eyes would light up whenever he was with Zara, his love interest. He fully embodied that character, and the result? Outclass acting.

And he’s delivering the same magic here.

Dananeer Mobeen: Female Lead

Surprisingly, Dananeer Mobeen is holding her own. I especially enjoy the scenes where she indirectly talks about Sir Talha to Daada or Daadi—her eyes lighting up with every mention. She brings a freshness to the screen, making her growing chemistry with Sir Talha even more engaging to watch.
