I am glad we finally have a diagnosis for Basit’s condition. His visit to the doctor reveals that he is an anxiety patient and according to the doctor the main reason behind his anxiety attacks being more frequent is the fact that he is lonely. Therefore the doctor suggests that Basit should go ahead and propose the girl he is in love with. I am no doctor but in my opinion this was a very wrong advice since Basit has serious trust issues when it comes to women and having a woman 24/7 in his life is not going to solve his anxiety issues. He should go into counseling first, get over his hatred and mistrust towards women AND THEN get into any serious relationship. Bad advice Mr. Doc, I would say! Anyway Basit heads over to Aabish’s house with a bunch of flowers (just what the doctor ordered, literally) and is utterly disappointed and upset when he sees Aabish holding hands with Sherry outside her house. So, he heads over to the doctors clinic once again to get some more useful advice and this time the doctor advices him to get over Aabish and propose the girl who loves him!! In my opinion this was the second bad advice that this talented doctor gave Basit, he could not possibly get over Aabish that quick (again I advice some counseling) and to propose a girl he does not even like to me is asking for more trouble. Anyway Basit follows his doctor’s advice and walks straight into Zara’s drawing room, where there are already guests who have come to see her for their son, and proposes her! He totally forgot to greet her parents and did not think he had to wait for the guests to go away. I have my serious doubts about the ‘authenticity’ of this marriage proposal and I suggest Basit should change his doctor!!
On the other side Aabish is back from the hospital, Sherry for the first time is truly there for Aabish and openly shows his love for her. When Aabish and Sherry enter the house holding hands Aabish is wearing a pink nail color but by the time they get in the color changes. I could not help but notice this since there are too many close ups and you just can’t miss minor details. When Sherry is leaving his house to see Aabish in the hospital his mother’s reaction was very suggestive of the fact that she will have serious issues with letting go of her son. Sherry’s stay at Aabish’s house is cut short due to some ‘catastrophe’ at home (so what’s new!). Aabish offers him some money before he leaves but he refuses, which shows that Sherry is a man of principle.
What I liked about today’s show was that we are finally moving forward and most importantly I was eagerly waiting to find out what was wrong with Basit, which I did today. But I have my serious reservations about his doctor and the advices he gives him! I am still finding it very difficult to relate to the characters, they are all over the place but not making much sense to me. I am finding Basit in particular to be quite a disgusting character, why does the guy wear shorts to bed? And the scene where he is taking a shower was totally unnecessary!! Another hitch i had with today’s episode was that Aabish does not take the least bit notice of the reasons because of which she landed in the hospital. Afterall she was told that she tried to commit suicide, she was not even a little bit curious how that could have happened. In fact no one around her was, taking two pain killers could not possibly be the reason. Some of the things in this play really make me think that common sense indeed is not very common! Such flaws are impossible to overlook.
