Maseeha – Episode 3

Three episodes later I am still confused about the name of the leading lady of the show thanks to the questions asked  by Hum TV regarding the last episode. After watching the first episode twice I was quite certain it was Aabish but then in the questions that Hum TV asked, they referred to her as Aalish but I am going to stick with Aabish until someone gives me further insight into the issue!
In today’s episode we found out more about Basit, he is in simple words ‘by day one way, by night another’, he wakes up several times at night with severe headaches, feels he cannot live without Zara at night time and come day Aabish is the girl he wants. I feel for Zara for being stuck with a man like that. In the upcoming episodes we will probably find out more about what caused Basit to be the way that he is. I am thinking it was more of his mother’s doing than anyone else’s since he hates her so much and accused her of playing games with him all his life.
On the other side Sherry finally revealed his true feelings for Aabish and although he made it clear that he did not deserve to be loved by her because of his circumstances but Aabish is just glad that he harbors such feelings for him. Sherry’s sisters are quite fond of Aabish too and call her when he falls sick. For the time being Aabish is the ‘Maseeeha’ for this family!
While Aabish’s mother is away, the trusted servant of the house gives Aabish sleeping pills and is contemplating stealing jewelry from the house slowly but surely. Aabish ends up in the hospital the next morning and telling from the promo it was because she attempted to commit suicide or maybe it was because of the sleeping pills and she is just saying that to make Sherry realize how much she wants him.
The play is moving slowly for my taste, I feel like there is enough repetition to bore me, already. I don’t like the excessive smoking being shown in the show and the use of the word s**** I find extremely unpleasant and unnecessary, I am sure there are a lot of more acceptable words to replace it. I am glad though that the team decided to mellow down on the close ups. The over all picture quality of the play is good. The acting of the entire cast looks promising now that the characters are shaping up. I guess the play will get more interesting once Aabish gets married to Sherry. I am just hoping that the show picks up pace because I cannot bear to see the same scenes for the fourth time.
