I found it difficult to sit through today’s episode because of a very weak script, unimpressive editing and performances that failed to impress. I am having a hard time coming into terms with all that happened in today’s episode, I definitely got the feeling that all of a sudden things are being rushed.
Sherry’s decision to go abroad was rather sudden, all this happened within a day. I am certain that no matter how well connected someone is you just can’t get up and leave for Dubai within a day. Also a person like Sherry, I am sure would not even have a passport. It seemed like the writer was too eager to send Sherry abroad and get on with the story. The way Sherry breaks the news to Aabish was quite strange “meinay mulk chornay ka faisla kur liya hai”, well actually there were many dialogues in this episode that made it impossible for me to relate to different situations or to feel for the characters. Sherry’s conversation with Aabish on the dinner table gave mixed signals. While he felt guilty for not being able to provide for his family but at the same time it sounded like he was trying to escape the situation. I must say that Sherry is one confused soul and by getting married to Aabish he obviously bit off more than he could chew. I know I should not be sympathizing with a “loser” (sorry I had to use the term) like Sherry but a part of me feels for him too, he never wanted to marry Aabish in the first place, he had too many problems of his own to deal with already and now he has Aabish throwing the “meinay tumhare liye apna sub kuch chora” card at him a bit too often now. At the same time it was wrong of him to expect Aabish to run his house and take care of his family while he is away. In my opinion Aabish and Sherry both have proved to be equally immature.
What’s up with Zara’s mother? Why is she acting like a step-mother? I understand that she did not like it when Zara left the hospital to look after Basit but her reaction is a bit exaggerated. Basit has undergone an overnight change and decides to apologize to Zara’s parents. Zara’s mother’s reaction was strange to say the least when Zara calls her to tell how happy she was and she should treat Basit like her son. She does not trust Basit (well neither do i) but she is definitely overreacting. Zara takes over Basit’s business and finds out soon enough that the employees that Basit has been trusting for so long are not honest. I can’t help but wonder; if Basit’s business is in such a bad state how does he manage to have this lavish lifestyle?
Zainab Qayyum’s acting is putting me off big time, the unvarying agonizing expressions and the flat dialogue delivery is making it impossible for me to relate to her character.
To sum up today’s episode was not the least bit impressive, the inconsistent acting by all the actors and the clumsy storytelling left a lot to be desired for.
