Are people really this easy to manipulate ? Gaythi Ara has learned from Masters of the game like her mother in law and SheherBano. With all the skills of a chess player who has lost many a game and learnt from each defeat she is working towards her ultimate victory : the eradication of Momina from Daud’s heart. Saba Hamid was in fantastic form, walking that thin edge only a General can understand :how much blood can be reasonably spilled to obtain victory ? She is tough on Alamas and Imdad ,taunting them with Zaid’s death because she does not want to give them a chance to complain about Nayab’s treatment at Daud’s hands. She is cruel to be kind with Nayab because she fears any sign of favour from her will not allow her son to empathise with Nayab.
Daud maybe angry and resentful but Nayab’s literal defencelessness is wearing him down.Each time he thinks of Momina his bile rises but how can you fight an opponent who refuses to retaliate? Ahsan Khan and Urwa stole the show this week with subtle , well played scenes that hinted at the slow, barely visible beginnings of a relationship. Urwa is not one of my favourite actresses but I think her she is excellent as Nayab;innocent without being stupid and strong despite her difficult situation .Gaythi Ara chose her well ,she does not take Daud’s rejection personally (though it must hurt) but struggles on at each stumbling step of their new life. One of the saddest scenes was her going to her” happy place” by pretending Zaid was with her after so many humiliations and remembering how precious she had been to someone. I am sick of protagonists who suddenly turn into Sati Savitris once they are married or pledge undying fidelity to someone who abuses them. Nayab is trying to make the best of a situation she has been plunged into so she does her duty without long sighs and sideways looks at Daud. 
Poor Momina as usual overplayed her hand ,despite looking exhausted at pretending , she was too enthusiastic about her new life for daud’s jealous eyes. Daud’s transformation has began ….. at the beginning of the episode he could not recognise his new bride and thought she might be a servant but by the end he was quietly watching her beautiful reflection as she got ready. Once again Great direction , great writing , great acting and excellent camerawork keep this the highlight of the week. I often complain about Gheralu ..Saas /Bahu dramas but that is because they are usually a one trick pony : Zalim Saas /bahu versus Innocent bahu/Saas. This serial cleverly shifts the focus from one character’s perspective to another’s keeping the story fresh . I am desperate to know what will happen next week will Momina go through with the wedding , will Daud turn to Nayab and most importantly will Gaythi ara win only to lose ?
