After 25 weeks of Mann Mayal, I’ve come to realize that everything that’s transpired so far was purposely done and we finally have the voice of reason in the form of Salahuddin’s mother. She called out Mannu for her kamchori, her lies, running away from home on multiple occasions, taking life too casually and finally living in Salahuddin’s home at his expense during iddat. She also saw right through Jeena’s act- why was this woman (who looks much older to Salahuddin) so desperate to get married? What was the rush for the marriage? She realized how two- faced she is the more she got to know her. Can we just wrap it up now that Aunty has spoken out what happens to be the only logical thing in this illogical drama?
Salahuddin finally realized how he needed to man up and give Mannu the izzat she deserved. It’s a pity that Mannu’s divorce has become the focus of all the misery surrounding her- her khaandan’s reputation, her Abba’s life, her integrity (oh wait, I forgot, Mannu has none!). Mannu isn’t the first woman on the planet who has been divorced- her divorce was a blessing in disguise- she rid herself of the parasite who was sucking the life out of her. Salahuddin’s mom felt she was entitled to toss some insults at Mannu and get her to earn her stay by doing *gasp* housework. I never realized housework could take such a toll on a person and make them feel worthless and possibly suicidal. Mannu’s body language made her seem like the most miserable person on the face of this earth.
Jameel’s sick obsession with his janeman Jeena continues- Jeem se Jameel, Jeem se Jeena Jeem se Jahannum! Both of these characters are putting me off big time. As much as I’m repulsed by Jameel, I actually enjoyed him ruin Jeena’s chances with Salahuddin. She had it coming. At the same time, I’m not exactly over the moon that Mannu and Salahuddin are heading towards their happy ending. Iss may Jeena ka Kay qasoor hai? Us key toh maa baap Bhi nahin hain… Ghairat, izzat, sharafat Bhi nahin hain…
Looks like Mikael is making his way back next week since we’ve missed him. Will Ayesha Khan never learn? Didn’t she go down this road in Shukk only to lose a man to another woman? A bechaari woman with a son… Here the sympathy factor is multiplied since Mannu has two kids!
