Holy Time Lapse, Batman, what do we do now? After yawning through the previous 12 episodes, the story jumped forward twice in this one. So a year passed and Mannu was expecting her first born. Mikael realized (thanks to his shady friend) that having children would ensure that his father’s wealth would be transferred to his children- he would have more control over it then he does now. Not even this khuskhabri brought an ounce of change in Mikael who continues huffing and puffing like the big, bad wolf. Mannu is perpetually lethargic and moves in slo-mo since pregnancy makes women incapable of moving…
Salahuddin is a successful businessman now (remember the property left behind by Ifty’s father?). He wants to relocate his family to Karachi and comes by to help them move. I found it extremely silly how Salahuddin was eyeing a heavily pregnant Mannu. And I really think Bia needs to get a life or get married. Her obsession with Mannu is disturbing. Mannu is married, on the way to having her baby and all Bia can talk about is “Bhai, Mannu bohut badal gayi hai…” Yes Bia, people change. People move on… Get with it!
So after Baby No.1 , three years pass by and Mannu is expecting Baby No. 2. Seriously, nothing else has changed in their lives- they are all still miserable, floating around like lifeless souls, refusing to change their circumstances. Mannu’s family discusses Salahuddin and his family even today- why, I don’t know! It seems like none of these individuals have discovered alternative ways of spending their time- no television, no form of entertainment, nada.
I have given up trying top understand the motives behind why Salahuddin does what he does- beghairti ki intihaa hogayi hai! He actually bought a gold chain and had Bia buy a tonne of presents for Mannu’s baby. I hated how Bia was trying to take selfies of her brother’s ex girlfriend who’s a married woman and mother! What are these people smoking? What makes them behave this way? Salahuddin cares for Mannu- seriously? He’s ruined her life and is only adding to her woes. And not moving on himself… Not that I’m interested in seeing him move on. I have lost complete interest in any of the characters and the promo for next week shows the much awaited Jeena- although by now, I doubt even she could salvage the show. Zabardasti ki addition so late into the show won’t really do wonders. Or at least that’s how I’m feeling right now.
I’m frustrated with this drama- the acting, the very substandard script, the randomness. It hasn’t done anything thus far in making it’s mark and I doubt it will be remembered for anything other than a very weak script and bad acting. I was really looking forward to Hamza’s comeback after Pyarey Afzal and after this catastrophe, I wish he had taken some more time off… There’s only so much potential for Maya Ali to perform and I think she’s done her bit but now with the way her character has been written, there’s very little left for her to do…
G’nite y’all…
