There are the oft seen, oh-so predictable characters and stories. One can easily and exactly see the plot unfold and anticipate the character’s responses in your mind. And then there is Man Jali, whose characters and seemingly familiar story is full of high intrigue.
Jalal Mirza, the understanding and accommodating father, makes numerous attempts to get his wayward, rake of a son (Taimoor) to tread his marital path with fidelity and integrity. However, instead of the filial acknowledgement Jalal hopefully expects, he is stingingly asked by Taimoor to consult a Psychiatrist.
Taimoor is no ordinary Casanova and his amorous adventures stretch deep into the ocean. His latest fling is with Sweety, the office assistant initially hired by Jalal to keep a tab on Taimoor. He yet again, manages to work his charm on gullible Sweety and gets her to play to his wishes. Jalal fires Sweety in an attempt to get her off the playing field, when he realizes that she too has succumbed to Taimoor’s wily charms.
Ramrod straight Ramis, on the other hand is the epitome of fidelity. Despite losing Tooba to Taimoor, he persists in warding off all other distractions, even when it comes in the shape of kind, understanding Dr. Sidra. Sidra is completely bowled over by his sincerity and single-point commitment to Tooba.
Madame Zareena makes an offer to Ramis to consider Gudiya, Tooba’s younger sister as a potential life-partner and wife. However, Ramis is enraged by the mere suggestion. Gudiya for her part, like Sidra maybe harboring feelings for Ramis, for she is shown to faint upon hearing of this proposition and Ramis’s reaction to it.
Lady Tooba, continues her stoic attitude and refuses to let Taimoor’s infidelity and his indiscretions break down her calm exterior. She courageously controls her inner turmoil and appreciates the endearing and devoted couple she is indeed lucky to have as in-laws.
A catalytic twist in the plot renders Taimoor, the charming. but low-moraled rake as a murderer, albeit accidental. His dealings with Sweety irk Annie, his previous lady love and she confronts him with a revolver. Quite inanely though, she threatens to kill him if he doesn’t marry her !! Of all things, did the threat to kill have to have a condition ?? Especially one as foolhardy as matrimony with a person of his character ?
In the scuffle that follows, Annie gets accidentally shot by Taimoor. There is utter shock and remorse on Taimoor’s face.
Will this be the swift departure of Taimoor from the story ? Leaving the field open for steadfast Ramis to woo back his lady love, Tooba ? How will the utterly adorable Jalal and Fakhra Mirza pair react and cope with such a shattering blow ? Is Tooba, reliving Zareena’s destiny of marital infidelity ? Ironically, to the extent where both their respective spouses commit murder ? What will be Tooba’s predicament, if its even a predicament instead of relief to be rid of such an unworthy husband ?
